Most sellers do not want to seller for "other people" because they will have to take on your "tax liability".

Try advertising locally.

Then run an ad in your local paper and hire someone or hire a head-hunting agency to find an assistant for you.

May be a SCAM folks;
For sure never give out your information if they ask to check you out:
As for a seller: they may try and scam the original poster out of their stuff.
This type of topic is HIGH RISK.

Put an ad in the newspaper. Advertise for help on facebook or other internet sites locally. Normally they have a garage sales site to advertise on.

Once upon a time, eBay had the Trading Partners program, and that didn't work out, so they tried eBay Valet and that also failed. The fact is, that selling things for others has so many problems and pitfalls that very, very few people will do it.
The first problem is that people nearly always have an unrealistic idea of the value of their stuff, so a lot of emotional drama develops. Then there are questions such as: "How will you and the seller handle the refund when a buyer waits 179 days and then files a claim with PayPal or does a credit card chargeback?" Are you willing to wait 180 for your money? If not, will you guarantee to cover the loss if this happens? How will you guarantee that? Or, "Who eats the loss if a buyer gets a refund but the returned item is damaged or a sorry substitute is sent?" And those are just a couple of issues, out of several equally serious ones.
So, the chances of your finding anyone who will sell for you are slim to none. Sorry to be discouraging.
If you do find someone, be sure you have a clean, detailed, written contract.
As for how to find one, as others have said you must advertise locally.

As stated the chances of this working out are slim to none. You might have better luck advertising for someone to teach you how to do it yourself.

i think that this will not work out for you. many people over value it they have. when i first started doing ebay i saw people charging 50 to 60 percent. pay by the hour and do auctions only. you need to do it yourself. to many things can go wrong. good luck

As posted by others this will be work for both of you if you manage to locate someone willing to sell your items for you.
As @maxine*j have a written contract spelling out in what is expected of each party.
Another option would be to selling your items yourself OR
you may find it easier to SELL your items OUTRIGHT and let the reseller have the work of selling the items after you have agreed on a price.
Have you done any recent research on the value of the items you want to sell?
If you find a selling assistant) he or she will need to be paid for their time and work. What kind of payment arrangement are you expecting the assistant to ask for.
treat this as a formal business arrangement and you should expect to pay TAXES on the items sold.
Are the items worth taking to auction?
Good Luck you're going to need it
