Long time member just don’t know how.
Have unfortunate saga to relate.
Basically have not any returns for years.
Sold something buyitnow. Costly.
Its getting supposedly returned. Not back yet.
Buyer said tracking receipt back is in his car & he can’t get to it.
Buyer left total 37 feedback for sellers; 6 negatives 1 neutral. Even his regular positive feedback left for him have problems. 1 positive feedback left for him said police needed to be involved. Others were also bad. He called sellers liars, etc.
Dont want this obviously on my account.
How do I do the PayPal refund &what do I click on eBay to do this with no defects on my account, or problems & to get a full refund from eBay?
Want to avoid this “buyers” wrath.. Want to end this non-transaction easy Peasy .
It was a game changer. Not ok to be a victim here with no protection from elements.

No it’s not there on the EBay sale notification.
The hours spent on this “buyer” is unbelievable!
I did ask him through eBay messages for his email address to send him back his additional postage.

Not in notifications ... in the actual sales record.
Go to your sold items.
Click on the eBay invoice number/sales record number.
This will open the sales record.
If it has been less than 45 days since the sale, the member's email address will be shown.

It sounds like your buyer may be developing a habit of using complaints to get whole or partial refunds. Its summer time so I doubt his car is buried in snow and he can't get to it ,, what other reason would someone have ? . I tend to doubt his story myself . Tulips
Impound lot maybe?

No email address there. Refuse to spend any more time on this.
But why did EBay take away the email address of the buyer with transactions?
Selling here more than 20 years & cannot explain why it’s now so convoluted
to do anything simple.

What a problem!
I issued him a PayPal refund yesterday early morning which is still marked as pending and he opened up an eBay return request today.
How many $1320. Refunds is he trying to get?
Unbelievable!
Doesn’t PayPal notify the buyer they have a refund coming when I filled out the form giving it?

Called eBay return request case closed as he already got the $1320. refund money. Sent him additional $21.50 for his postal fees mailing ring back to me.
Blocked him.
Whew! This case is closed.
Thank you everybody who all helped me so much here!

This guy is crazy!
Dealing with him is enough for me to quit selling on eBay.
Now he says he didn’t get his refund as PayPal has the wrong address.
He’s unverified.
He says he’s not going to close the eBay case until he gets his refund.
Ebay told me they closed the case but I didn’t get an email stating as such.
Case is marked closed on sales transaction.
I blocked him yet he’s still able to contact me 3x ranting by email about his refund.
I’ve already called eBay & PayPal several times each and spent countless hours on the phone because of him.
Guess I’ll have to do it tomorrow again!

Why did you give him back his return shipping? If there was nothing wrong with the ring, that is on him.
And thanks for empowering him to continue doing this.

You can't block communication from a buyer that you are in a transaction with.
Refunds are credited to the original payment method. If he paid with a Debit or credit card, it may take a few days for the money to get back to his account. Especially if it was international.
This whole thing was handled badly on both sides ... what a mess 😞

Since I didn’t get his email from EBay which was 100% unavailable, I automatically refunded by PayPal & I used the email they provided on the original transaction to also refund his postal fee backof $21.50.
His 3 emails in the middle of the night say the email address I used by PayPal refund is not his real address but he gave me another different one.
I’m waiting until 9 A.M. Eastern to clear up for the umpteenth time.
Then I think I’ll have to call EBay too.

Stop flailing around.
Take a deep breath.
Message your buyer:
Dear Buyer:
I have refunded you in full through the original PayPal transaction.
If your original payment was made with a Debit or Credit Card, it may take a while for the refund to be credited back to your funding source.
For the shipping payment, you can go into your PayPal account and add the other email address to your account. You will then be able to access those funds.
If you have any questions about this process, please call PayPal and they will be able to assist you, as I no longer have your funds and the eBay return is closed.
Thank you.
Seller.
