You have to Literally document from Day one and then use a numerical base 30 chart to figure out whether you got any new views, and then that may or may not be correct because we don't know if eBay is calculating this stuff based on, up to the second, minute, hour after an item has been listed for over a month. Why in the world would they change from the continuous count up to this new system that is pretty much Useless.

Or.....you could just go to "See Traffic History" and use the drop-down menu to see up to 2 years of views.

thanks for the reply however I still miss the simple days when you figure all this out with a glance, now the simplest things become a Rubin Goldberg affair on eBay.

So, by this I take it you found bot views useful?
06-15-2024 08:18 AM
No eBay should have programed where Bot views never counted in the first place, just buyers looking, if we can put a Probe on Mars, eBay can omit Bot views and make life so much easier for a Seller.

Well yes, I agree that clicking on a drop-down menu can be a challenging and time-consuming task.

"...if we can put a Probe on Mars, eBay can omit Bot views and make life so much easier for a Seller."
Yes well, that's exactly what they did.

Let see if I'm on the right page your talking performance / traffic Right?

The other day I listed an item and by the end of the day, I had 2 views. Great! The next day the views disappeared and I were back to zero. I only thought the watchers disappeared, not the views. Something is squirrely!

Yeah, but they just couldn't count beyond 30 days, it's a Shame, my complaint is yesterday I was looking at one of my items with 176 views last night, today it has 125 views, so what does a Sane person make of this, well I don't know what to make of it, did 51 people/bots look at it 30 days ago? Was there 0 views 30 days ago and 125 views of people/bots over night, There's just no frame of reference. You have No idea what is going on.

Well...this is why many people pay little to no attention to "views." 176 views and $4 gets you a caffe latte at Starbucks.

Come on be serious, other wise if you can't make sense of it why is it taking up space on your listings, like I say if they had just continued with the count up method a seller could at least made some kind of assessment. As things stand when ever you have an opportunity to send an offer, You really don't know if your sending it to a bot or a person who looked at your listing, and again if eBay can distinguish between a bot or a person they can omit bots from the views, and count this thing up. What is so hard about that?

yesterday I was looking at one of my items with 176 views last night, today it has 125 views, so what does a Sane person make of this,
Views are up for 30 days.
Apparently about 50 of those Views were on the first day of listing.
When Day 31 came, those first Views disappeared.
More to the point.
176 people saw your item-- and didn't buy it.
So what is the real problem?
Price?
Description?
Pictures?
Flooded market?
As things stand when ever you have an opportunity to send an offer, You really don't know if your sending it to a bot or a person
Umm. no.
Since eBay started eliminating bot views, you do know that you are probably sending to a person.
Just a person who didn't buy the item when they Viewed it.
