You left town,

You sold items (6) and left them unattended.

You ignored your account for some time, you didn't fulfill orders or did partial orders and refunds.

You ignored emails from eBay.  You had cases open. You didn't ship some items.  You didn't respond to eBay.

I'm sorry for your losses.   Did it even occur to you to take care of your business/account before you just up and left?  I realize that it was a hard time but you left buyers hanging.

You are trying to make this out to be a buyer's  issue.  You are projecting that because you won't accept your responsibility for the issue.  This wasn't a scam, this was you not taking care of your customers/business.

That will do it.

CS that you call are there to make you feel warm and fuzzy and get off the phone as fast as possible. They have NO access to your 'banishment' and NO power to change it. 

You are done on ebay- there will be no coming back from this.

What you have described would result in a restricted account. All without any human intervention.

What you want is a human understanding of the real issues you faced which were beyond your control. Your past record is irrelevant. Your honest excuses are irrelevant. Mercy is non-existent.

I honest do not know if time will alter the nature of the restriction. I would seek clarification as to whether this is permanent or will be lifted at some point.

Objectively, punishment is justified, but emotionally you deserve a break.

You had 6 items to manage. 

You mismanaged those items and your account. 

That's what happened. eBay doesn't care why it happened.

So, you left town in a hurry, you still had access to all the info you need thru a computer or cell phone, you could have put your store on vacation mode or ended all listings while travelling.

All you needed to do was cancel all of your listings before you left.

Sorry, but it sounds like you brought this all on yourself.

I'm sorry that you had a family issue, but, eBay doesn't care that you had family emergency, someone was sick or whatever, they don't make exceptions for anyone. They stick to the rules as outlined in the User Agreement. 
You should have took a few minutes to either end all your items or put them on Time Away.

While you weren't paying attention to eBay you sold items, buyers never received them, they opened cases where eBay was asked to step in for refunds.
