How are some sellers able to sell so cheap.

When i'm out shopping i'm always on the lookout for bargains that i might be able to sell on eaby.

I'll only sell items if i can double my money (or more).

I was at Costco the other day and saw this 8 pack of Oral-B toothbrushes that were discounted down to $10.  I thought to myself "I could sell these on ebay". I got home and went on ebay to do my research.

Physical items are one thing, but if we're talking software, the amount of people selling pirated software on ebay is insane.  It is very difficult to find legitimate copies of what I'm looking for, if at all.

Stay cautious.

That is because it is not legal to re-sell software unless one is a licensed dealer. Microsoft hold the copyrights to most of it and does not allow anyone to make a dime on it but them. (To my understanding anyway.) Any thing else is known as Pirating.  I'd be concerned it was bootlegged or virus infected or had a key-logger on it - I'd not risk second hand software in any case.

Wally dropped the charges so I don't think there was any stealing. Anyone aware of the issue could have offered a helping hand, rather that was a lawyer, Walmart employee, juror, court groupie, family member, or complete stranger. If I knew of a similar incident, I would have tried to send a gift card from MacDonald's or a box of easy to prepare food on the QT.

I agree.

Most religions practicing in the US teach that 1) we ARE our brother's keeper and 2) to whom much is given, much is required.

I for one, believe in these principals.

The recent posts concerning laundry detergent and toothbrushes make me think that these and similar items would be fantastic things to purchase when on sale and donate to a shelter

I buy tampons and pads whatever is on sale to put in the Food Bank box at the supermarket.
Another expense for young women in need.
I've had some odd looks from female cashiers- since I'm 73.

Good going! I always get toilet paper, soap, band-aids, pads of paper and pencils from the Dollar Tree along with a few coloring books/crayons when I do my donating. Never thought about tampons - but they are on my list now! (and my age is close to yours!)

If selling on eBay were as easy a buying at a big box store and marking up the price, everyone would be rich.

You're right. But that's what i can't understand.  I see people doing it all the time. Costco will put something on sale, and you can tell it was packaged just for Costco. Some Sony merchandise is given a different model number just to indicate it's a Costco item. Anyways i'll see it on sale at Costco, then check ebay  and people are selling it for the same sale price Costco was offering it for.  Either they are getting it cheaper than i can, stealing it, or they are losing money.

I like SPAM!

It's good fried up and slabbed onto Pepperidge farm white bread (not the nasty Wonder bread) with mustard.  I grew up on the stuff - I still like it, along with scrapple, but I don't eat much of it due to...well...it's a wonder I didn't keel over at the age of 21, given I grew up on the stuff fried in bacon grease (another tasty thing).

Maybe, but I just looked it up and it seems to be to keep people from stealing it.  The top 3 most shoplifted items are:

  1. Meat
  2. Razors
  3. Baby formula

The mind boggles. How on earth do you shoplift meat? The next question would be why.

Same. I never even thought about it, but they are an "essential".

Oh, the stories I could tell!

Years ago I worked as a GM unloader at Walmart. One night they caught a "pregnant" woman...a lady wearing a maternity dress had a 20 pound turkey and some other assorted small meat items up her dress.  Another night they caught a man with 10 T-bone and sirloin steaks stuck down his pants legs.

People would also use their infants to shoplift. The baby would be in the cart in an infant carrier, and they would slip stuff under the baby seat and under the baby blankets.

That's the how. The why? - the vast majority of the shoplifters caught in our store turned out to be members of theft rings who would resell the items. They weren't hungry, they weren't in need...they were thieves, pure and simple.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.
