How about some FREE listings?

To make ump for all these glitches?

To placate sellers that are considering leaving eBay?

To at least show us, the sellers, that someone at eBay cares?

How about some FREE listings?

Just got 500 on my two selling ID's. I really don't need many extras, but I did use some on one account this time to end/revise/update some listings to see up that would get the sales out of the current 35% slump.

Wife's account could use some freebies, but did not get them this time, so many listings on that account are going to take a rest.

Great that you found a solution to your initial post.

Who can tell what is worth listing anymore?

Exactly. If a 30 cent listing fee is going to make or break the listing, donate it.

With the sell-thru rate so low, that listing fee on many items has to be covered on a single sale.  I don't think most sellers on here even understand that.

If you have to do all the marketing yourself, what are you paying ebay fees for?

Ebay isn't earning their keep.

I got left out of that 500 freebie. Must be cause my sales are UP from last month. 😞

Possibly true if you are selling new everyday merchandise with popular appeal.   When you are selling vintage and collectible items to a much smaller market - most items take more than one listing to sell.  Those 30-35 cent fees add up fast.

When sell thru rates were 80-90% - paying a listing fee could be justified - with sell thru rates of 5% they can't unless you are selling really high ticket items.

I got two promos this month.  Because I'm a small seller, I was able to run 5 day auctions all month.  I even managed to make a few sales.

Free listings result in most sellers having a lower sell-through do to oversaturation and more competition.  The OP disagrees so she marked her own post as the solution instead.

@uncseniorsportsfan

That's mostly all I sell and have never had a problem with paying 30 cents. In fact my buyers not only pay the 30 cents, but they also cover the ship cost, packaging material, and my gasoline to get to the post office, PP fees , AND Ebay FVF's. My moto is you have list desirable items and at a cost buyers are wiling to pay. If it's not worth listing, it's easier to just donate it to Salvation Army.

I actually "accepted as solution" to the wrong post.  I don't speak "message board" very well.  Sorry if I caused confusion.

Or better still, compensate those who've paid for their listings already through their store subscriptions.

The right store can cut the cost of listing by 75% and give you the freedom to list and relist as you please. You lose this advantage by waiting for free listing promos.

Free listings might be ok for non-store sellers, but doesn't benefit store owners at all.  This has caused sellers in those categories thousands of hours of work (lost money) and sales (lost money).  Ebay needs to step up to the plate and put *their* money where their mouth is.

1) Cut the FVFs in affected catagories in half for the remainder of the year.

2) Discounts on store fees for October and November for affected sellers.

eBay should recognize the financial pain that this fiasco has caused and pony up. Apologies just don't cut it in my opinion.

My buying account has been offered at least 2000 this year:)

Then of course there was the "glitch" where we were offered several thousand listings that were actually not available.
