One of ebay's PITFALLS is the ridiculous BLOCK BUYERS LIST. If I buy from you, only to screw you and you block me, you're only blocking my I.D. you're not blocking my I.P. address. I can them bid or buy through my wife or kid's account & I could still SCREW YOU.

I have over 3 dozen buyers blocked. For all I know they could've purchased from me again under another name or asking someone to buy for them.

Blocking buyers is only a band aid that doesn't really treat the wound. These same buyers are allowed to prosper without repent without issue.

If you've sold on ebay long enough you've heard of sellers being suspended. Can you name a buyer who had their account suspended?

They could not create another account to purchase from you.

False. I blocked a buyer who was very demanding/insulting with an inquiry for an item she did not purchase, after I researched for her and answered her question. 6 months later she created a new account and made a purchase. I processed the shipment, unbeknown to me that I had previously blocked her. She then emailed me wanting to know why I had blocked her other ID. It took me a while to research my emails for the reason, but I did find it and reported her to EBAY. They did nothing about it, because she had not left any feedback yet. She never did leave feedback for the purchase, and I refused to answer her current question per ebay advice. I waited for her to neg me, and then report her, but nothing came of it.

I have more people blocked than I care to count !! Most are people that have sent me disrespectful emails. They won't even get the opportunity to purchase my items unless they use a different account , etc. I don't and won't tolerate disrespectful people!! I have some but not many actual purchasers blocked. You people might find this odd but I try not to SELL to SELLERS !! What I list and sell I prefer to sell to the general public ! They are the people that actually want to keep what I sell them. Now what they do with their purchase is entirely up to them. But I BELIEVE most of what I sell is kept for collections and not to resell. I prefer not see any ITEM I sell back up on the auction block. Yes I have lost some buyers because of that. But that is my choice. See what I sell it seems (EVERYONE) I sell to is a EXPERT 😳😳😳 and I'm the seller and don't even claim to be an EXPERT! ( LOL ) !! Tough business and i suggest you not try it unless you are willing to put up more questions and answers than YOU can handle and THAT are ALREADY answered in the CONDITION and DESCRIPTION AREAS !! People just don't read !! And that irritates me more than anything !! And that CAN and WILL GET YOU BLOCKED !! I spend a enormous amount of time putting the info in and it is just ignored 😳 !!! So YES I HAVE MANY,MANY people blocked and my list grows at a steady rate !! Have a Nice Day People 😀

I MIGHT block buyers who:

1) haggle too much over price/shipping demanding discounts before the sale. I don't mind a little discussion, but nasty or demanding is a red flag for me.

2) return an item because they did not like it, did not read the description, or didn't get a partial refund for something not my fault after the sale. If it is my fault in any way, I don't block.

3) sometimes those that ask for a large discount because: someone died/living on fixed income/sick or whatever. Nothing I sell is critical and if they do not have the money they don't need it. I don't mean to be uncharitable, but this is a business.

4) outright scammers. I've only had a couple of those.

5) bidders whose feedback for other sellers indicates way too many negatives or leave many false positives. (Example: of the last 10 feed backs, 2 were negative & 2 false positives indicating the "seller worked with them.")

6) people who make ridiculous offers, especially if I do not have "best offer" on the listing.

I don't have that many overall on my list but the tool is there to use if you want to do so. Overall, I use my judgement based on how they communicate and the circumstances.

I know someone who is an artist and she feels the same way about her paintings.

She doesn't want to sell to anyone she thinks will re-sell it and make a profit. I also heard her ask someone where they planned to hang it in their home, and they said in the bathroom (not sure if it was a painting of a bathtub or not) and she refused the sale.

I will never understand that type of thinking.

I could not care less what someone does with something they buy from me as long as *I got the price *I wanted for the item.

Does this mean that you found a way around the seller's block and purchased anyway?

Or that you had a different seller that you did not like but purchased from anyway because this seller blocked you?

We've had multiple buyers with 10 or more accounts, create additional accounts or use other accounts to circumvent our blocking them. Ebay needs to allow sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers because that is the only true way to gauge if a bidder is someone that you actually WANT to sell to.

Make snarky remarks on MBs or just plain disagree with me
Post opinions on MB that I don't agree with or start a P*zzing contest
Ask any questions about my listing since ALL info is in there & I NEVER make mistakes
Anyone who wanders in my sight that has less than 25 feedback score
Anyone who has given a red donut in the last 12-months regardless of reason
Anyone who has given 2 grey dounts in the last 12-months
Dropshippers or those doing aribitrage
Other sellers who watch my items
Anyone who gives me a Best Offer that is less than the BIN price
Those who come on MBs and attempt humor or are OTT and "fail!"
Oh and those who comb their hair over to the right side - I HATE that!

So I have more than a few on my Best Buddies List!

Would say more, but I have to go figure out what I can do to increase my sales!

A blocked seller list makes no sense. all you have to do is NOT buy from them again. sellers aren't soliciting you. you are soliciting them & when buyers are jerks ebay allows the seller to block them.

Where I work, there's something I started called "the story of the day". When something crazy happens with my eBay sales (or a customer who is a bit out there), they become subject of that day's story. Then I forget about it and move on. Don't bother getting upset. It's not personal. They don't know you. They don't care one way or the other about your feelings. They're just rude with poor social skills.
