How DoYour Report a Buyer for Feedback Extortion?

I see no link to report a buyer.  For any violation.

I know it is a violation for a buyer to mention feedback when asking for something she is not

entitled to under the terms of the transaction and ebay requirements.

How can I report a buyer for feedback extortion?

As I understand it, there is nothing to report until they have actually followed through with negative feedback.

Keep all their messages handy. You will need that should you get the negative.

How DoYour Report a Buyer for Feedback Extortion?

I know what the feedback extortion policy is and I finally was able to find a link to report this buyer.

Maybe they will. Once or twice I actually got a call from ebay about a problem I had reported, or a question I had asked.

The ebay policy specifically says it is a violation to promise or offer a seller positive feedback for doing something, providing something, or sending money that is not required . Right?

@eunster1313   Is that link an old Bookmarked one you have?  I was looking for it in the Help Pages the other day by typing in "Feedback Extortion" which USED to take me right to it.  Now that won't work, there is a Feedback Misuse Policy and some others but no Feedback Extortion link ...

maybe they are watering down the terminology so as not to accuse Buyers of "extortion" ...

Look on the seller hub overview page in the orders section, click the blue see all orders link and find the item.  To the left of the title is a small blue arrow with a drop down menu that includes 'report buyer' it's at the bottom of the list.  Included is the option 'Buyer demanded something that was not offered in my listing'.  The reasons are not always a perfect fit but there is room to write what actually happened.  You'll get an instant email thanking you for reporting.

The link posted by you and another poster is the correct eBay help page describing the current feedback extortion policy. Even if eBay revises a policy, a saved link remains active. If a page or policy is abandoned completely, there would be a "page not found" message of some kind.

Thanks for posting a link to the current feedback extortion policy help page for the OP.

A lot of the standalone help polices won't come up in help search.

A lot of the links to them are inside other policies that you have to

look at first to find them. You were close to finding the link to it.

@eunster1313   Thanks for that ... they've changed the search then, it used to come up just by typing in Feedback Extortion on the Help Pages.

@mstcwrld7   There are several links to Reporting Buyers ... here are just two.  One on your Feedback page at the bottom and another one on the Shortcuts tile in Seller Hub ...

It is not a violation simply to mention feedback when asking for something extra.

It is only a violation if the buyer explicitly uses the threat of feedback to extort that something extra.

I realize that it is a narrow distinction, but it is a distinction nonetheless.

How DoYour Report a Buyer for Feedback Extortion?

I am OP.  In this case the buyer said she will leave me positive feedback when I have sent her the money she is asking for.  This problem arose because I sold the item out of the USA.   I, , being such a nice seller, accept free returns.  The buyer said she was returning the item, and I said she would get the return postage   refunded.

Ebay instructed me to refund the item cost plus the $3.95.  i did.  Ebay closed the return. Now the buyer wants more money.     I want to know:  if I do not send the buyer more money and she leaves me a negative can I get it removed?

I have often bowed to buyer pressure in slightly ambiguous situations.

And I am getting tired of it.  Guess many of us are.
