Now that Devin Wenig is gone why doesn't Ebay go back to basics. Ebay could stay out of our businesses and go back to being just a venue to sell items. Have some basics rules about obscenity in feedback and offensive items. Bring back sellers being able to leave negative feedback. Ebay only intervenes is disputes as a extreme last resort and even then only for fraud or criminal activity. I don't know about you but I do not need all of Ebay's charts and graphs and number because they are never correct anyway. Let people use third party listers to write listings and save photos. That would save a ton right there. Think of all the money Ebay would save and then they could use that extra income to upgrade servers so that everyone's items are visible 24/7/365. "You may say that I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one". None of the so called "improvements" have made things better and in fact they have made things worse. Going back to basics may just be the thing to save Ebay.

I totally agree with you, Sellers should have some rights like they used to. All these policy changes are killing me.

It's been a hard days night and I've been working like a dog, with not a lot to show for it anymore.

Maybe some day they will get back to basics and work with sellers instead of penalizing them.

It is a Blessing that this is not the only selling platform out there, lots of sellers are moving on.

that is a smart idea ! lets see if ebay is smart ! If the new CEO is smart he will go back to at least some of the important basics which ebay was founded on !

Sadly some of the other sites are ssssssllllllooooowwww sales and some are adopting similar policies or worse. Some have no business knowledge at all and have policies that actually hurt sales. Some are way too touchy feel social media type sites. I think if someone just came up with a site that was just a venue to sell stuff with no trying to control everything they would crush it. But Ebay would probably sue them and shut them down.

if ebay wanted to they could divide into 2 selling venues ! 1 for the large scale seller and one for the smaller scale seller that sells vintage and antique items and can be other type of stuff as well. The small scale seller can chose a simpler form of payments ! (their choice) List for a time period they want and not the GTC nonsense. I am sure some love that route but I do not ! I also miss watching auctions go off ! some were fun to watch and interesting and buyers did bid !! You just do not see that much anymore and I think if it came back more sellers would use it again but then only if potential buyers could find and see it better on here. The changes in my opinion killed that pretty much but I used to do pretty well with it, now your lucky to get bids if any at all. I know they could fix these issues but the question is will they ? The mangled payment thing just will not work for me at all ! I know when I go to the store and buy something I have to pay them right now. When I sell something I want my money right now as well ! Means I sold it !!! I just hope they can create a compromise that can work for all sellers without all the nimby jamby that goes with the unwanted new policies !

Don't know  too many companies that  were successful by going  backwards.  Sears  tried but failed.

Yea Ebay's "going forward" has really worked out well for them and yes I am being sarcastic. Why would any company abandon the model that made them the success they are?

If a buyer claims he got a paperback instead of an iPhone, how would eBay determine whether the buyer or the seller is committing fraud?

The simply answer is ... they can't determine whether the buyer or the seller is committing fraud. So they have two choices - screw buyers, or screw sellers.

In the end, they chose the latter - and yet sellers are still clamoring to sell here.
