Hi fellow eBayers,
Does anyone know how to help the people in Hawaii besides the Red Cross? I'm not fond of them.

I have donated numerous times to the American Red Cross in the pass. Overhead, expenses are only 9% of their budget which is very good compared to many other charities.
What are your concerns?

The Red Cross is proud that an average of 90 cents of every dollar we spend is invested in delivering care and comfort to those in need. The remaining 10 cents helps keep the entire Red Cross running by supporting routine, but indispensable, day-to-day business operations.

Actually, ordinary people from the other Hawaiian Islands are on their boats bringing supplies to help the people on Maui.
At this time posted those are the only people helping out. Not the state or government or any organizations have been there yet.

Looks like at least 1 organization has been working and feel certain there are others are as well.

The American Red Cross is a fine institution, and it has helped millions all over the world. However, it tends to be bureaucratic and inflexible in its operations. Think of the Red Cross as someone coming to help you who says, " Here is what you need," instead of, "What do you need?" Many of the controversies about ARC through the years have centered around its response (or lack thereof) to the immediate needs of the victims of disaster.
Having said all that, I hasten to add that the ARC is still a good organization to donate to, knowing that in the long run the money will be used well.

World Central Kitchen was on the ground almost immediately to feed first responders and displaced people.

In case you haven't heard of eBay for Charity:
Many sellers make contributions through their eBay sales. It's common to see posts like this when disaster abounds.
