Good afternoon,
On June 22, I shipped 2 packages to the eBay international shipping center in Glendale Heights.
One going to Jack in Canada with drawer handles
One going to Dylan in France with doll clothes.
Today Jack sent me a picture.
He received Dylan's package of doll clothes.
The picture shows the package he received has Dylan's name and Dylan's evtn number.
What in the world do I do about fixing this mess when the sorting center made this mistake?

Thank you.
Although inhawaii states "
"You are mistaken.
That error could only have been made by you.
Ebay does not "swap labels" at the EIS hub.
Unless you are not capable of making a mistake, in which case this is ala ebay's fault."
It's donkey answers like his that drive people away from using these boards.

How does EIS hub know what label to print out once they receive it? Is it he EVNT? We cant see the event number on the mailer, so do we know those were correctly written?
To mix up these two items, two items from the same sellers I would think we have better odds winning the lottery. I cant even imagine the packages moving along together or processed by the same person. Since they were hand addressed someone had to handle it and know what label to print out to get the final delivery address.

The package was addressed to Dylan
The package had Dylan's doll clothes in it.
The evtn number is Dylan's
Therefore,
I did NOT address it incorrectly.
It simply had the wrong shipping label attached at the eBay center in Glendale Heights
Now how is that my mistake?
Why, with photos, is that so hard to understand?

note evtn number from eBay shipping page is correct for Dylan

evtn number correctly written on package for Dylan

No doubt there is a mistake, but how your two packages received the wrong label, I can't wrap my mind around how that happened. I can understand you getting another sellers label put on your package a lot easier then I can understand how your two packages got crossed up. We need to know how the HUB knows how to print the final label to know how/what happened.
I assume if we print out the label all the final details are on the bar code, if the mailer is hand labeled the a person has to pick up the package and enter some info. When that happens does you account pop-up and they select what sale it was and click that to print? I don't know. But if that was the case, then when the other package went through the system, it would most likely say "a label has already been printed, and cant print another. " So if so, maybe your other buyer wont receive any package

I'd present this to the social media reps and ask them how this could have happened?

Since you hand printed you own label not sure how it would work for you. Did you go to a shipping service and pay them to ship it to the Bay International Shipping center in Glendale Heights or did you pay thru eBay?
I have an order from January that I purchased the eBay International Shipping from eBay. On my Order Details it has the eMail and the Phone for the eBay International Shipping.
II have an order from February going to Mexico and I purchased the shipping from Pirate Ship. But even though I did not purchase the shipping from eBay they still have the eMail and the Phone for the eBay International Shipping.
It would make sense to have that information available since that is who you are sending item to.
After a couple of weeks that information may or may not disappear from the Order Details.
I would suggest you look at you Order Details and see if the information is still available to you.
I don't know if I am allowed to post the information but I will show you a partial screen shot of what it looks like. This is posted at the bottom of the Ship to box in your Order Details.
This is how it will look after a few weeks.

I didn't know sellers ship packages directly to an eBay shipping hub first or maybe I am reading it wrong.
I can see the mistake as you might be the only one who sent 2 packages directly to a eBay shipping hub.

Is it possible, the post office thought the hand address was to smudged and they printed a label and it is under the other printed labels.
I understand the seller did not mix it up.
It is so unlikely two packages from the same seller would end up, together, on one of thousands sorting tables.
Now, because this went though eIS, is this a situation where eBay is the one who should refund?

To answer your question, I hand write all my labels and drive over to the post office where I purchase postage at the window.
I do not have the view you show in either screenshot.
Thank you

That is how the eBay International Shipping program works. We ship anywhere from a dozen to maybe 30 packages there every week, I’d guess.
How they mixed up these packages I don’t know, but they’re the ones who will have to take responsibility (eBay, that is, not the seller).

So a seller ship a package directly to an eBay shipping hub?
And puts the buyer's address inside the package?
I was just curious.

To answer your question, since I take the packages in and purchase the postage at the counter it was not too smudged to read. And in fact, it was not since it arrived at the shipping hub to which it was addressed. The post office prints the address label as
eis
110 internationale Blvd
Glendale Heights il
60139-2080
They then move on to the next package which went to Scottsdale AZ, then 4 more then the 2nd package to Glendale Heights according to the receipt.
The man in Canada has a totally different name obviously as well as evtn number.
His is tjp2cgx
Dylan's is kjq6h2l
Yes, I think eis will have to refund, not me. I am now just concerned this will be 2 effects on my account and 2 angry customers.

Sorry I meant defects.
