I had ebay remove one of my listings today under a claim of Counterfeit product. The product was the board game Ticket to Ride - example of the product is ebay item#354443445061. My item is brand new & I was the original purchaser over 10 years ago & still in the original wrap.
Are board games now being policed as counterfeit by ebay? The only thing I did when listing it was remove it being a Harry Potter product from ebay's preprogrammed data as this has absolutely zero to do with Harry Potter. Anyone else having similar experiences & am I able to attempt to relist it?

Hard to say. It may not be a board game that is permitted to sell on Ebay...perhaps Vero has a hand in it. Just giving some possibilities of why your listing was ending.
Don't relist it...if Ebay takes it down, then that's that. Relisting it can jeopardize your account and you've got a nice little shop that should do well through the holidays. Don't chance it. Happy Holidays.
Happy Selling.

Once eBay takes a listing down, even if it was done in error, it is very risky to attempt relisting. The risk is that it will be removed again regardless, and a more serious penalty leveled against your account. Violations are cumulative. The more there are, the greater the danger of having compromised selling privileges, one’s place in Search results can be lowered, additional final value fees levied. We see it here in the forums regularly.

There are dozens of listings for the exact same item up & that is what drives me crazy. Wish you got a real answer with the proof detailing how it is in violation & not just the robot message with zero information.

So how do you determine how an item is counterfeit then if they provide no details?

Again, it could be a number of things that set it off. Yes, the bots are a possibility. Could be words in the title, lots of reasons that I stated earlier. People here are just advising you not to relist because it can put your account at risk. Once you have an item removed, you are under Ebay's radar. And yes, I know there are the same ones out there that are listed, they just haven't been caught yet and eventually they will.
This is Ebay's playground and if the decision is you can't sell it, you can't sell it. I agree it would be nice to get an actual answer from someone who knows, but that's not going to happen here or most e commerce platforms. The CS is outsourced, overseas and most of the time they will tell you incorrect or false info. Don't waste your time.
Just be smart and take the advice you have been given. You have a lot of nice items that will sell, so focus on that positive.
Happy Holidays.

Did you get a VeRO notice?

Ticket to ride is a bad ebay item anyway. The games manufacturer forces copies of the game onto brick and mortar stores that will likely never sell a copy as part of their top 50 product line, and then forces more copies onto them because it always shows up as one of the monthly demo games each year. They enforce MAPP pricing on it so the retailers can't even clearance them out So there are a glut of unwanted new ones shifted to ebay and it is heavy. It almost never sells at the specialty retailers who get stuck with it because most of their customers want more adult oriented or violent board games, while the hardcore collectors who buy everything have already had it for years.
I obviously used to work in gaming brick and mortar.
It is however a decent Facebook marketplace item as it has good name recognition and someone will likely snap it up quickly.

Why should eBay give a counterfeiter tips on how to improve his fakes?
Which is not meant as any criticism of you as a seller. I have no doubt that your puzzle was original and genuine.

There are no fake "Ticket to Ride" games. The manufacturer is just being obsessive over the title due to retailers unloading promo games and regular stock on ebay to avoid the manufacturers Mapp pricing agreement that they are stuck in.

Mine was taken down today, new sealed in package. I also eliminated the Harry Potter reference. 2 months ago I listed one and had no problem. I am contesting this with eBay, but I doubt they will do anything.
