Help please

One of my buyers bought a necklace but bought the wrong one.  I knew what one she wanted and went ahead and sent it to her.  It was 5.00 more so I was going to request that money via PayPal but thought I needed her email address.  I goofed up by not removing the necklace she really wanted and I had shipped because by the time I went to find out her email address she had bought it.(  The one she is getting.)  I am not used to returns, refunds, etc. and am not sure how to cancel this purchase--if that is something I do or does she need to do it.  Will I get an Ebay ding for this?  Or better yet I could refund the money she spent on the "wrong" necklace.  Would doing so avoid all that refund stuff?

Re: Help please

Has the buyer told you that they don't want the first one they purchased and paid for or are you assuming they don't want it?

If the buyer hasn't asked you to cancel the order for the first necklace, you should ship it ASAP because she paid for it.  And that would resolve your issue.  Don't assume you know what the buyer wants if they have not expressed that to you.

If the buyer did ask you to cancel the first purchase.  Then just do a cancellation using the reason the buyer requested it and that will take care of that and then refund it.

But I caution you that if your buyer has not asked you to refund the first purchase, don't assume that is what they want.  They may have decided they wanted both necklaces.
