I'm trying to think of a way to give a good reply to this negative and fall within the character limit. Taking suggestions.
A buyer bought an item on Sunday 10/20. On 10/25 the buyer messaged me in a bit of a frantic that they don't have the item. He claims "You said it was arriving on 24th, it's 25th and I have nothing..." He continues with his end-of-the-world message.
Assuming he meant that ebay's ETA shown to him was 10/24, I checked the order details and low and behold his ETA given was in fact 10/24. I have 1 day handling set and the buyer opted for Standard shipping (up to 5 business days). Why the heck did ebay give this buyer an ETA of 3 days? I'm in Calif, and the buyer is in Florida... coast to coast. From experience, many items going FC from Calif to FL takes 5 business days max. 2-3 days should be reserved for Priority Mail ETA.
I replied to the buyer saying ebay's ETA system is often incorrect, and I gave him the correct (my predicted) ETA. So the item arrived to the buyer on 10/28 (5th business day as I predicted). Buyer leaves a negative feedback "This is the bad seller Nasty very bad very bad before you order be careful"
Any suggestions for reply?

Buyer inquiry about USPS standard shipping time was addressed with courtesy.
Buyer inquiry about their choice of shipping method was addressed with courtesy.
I have a bit of a problem with either of those, as the "with courtesy" phrase is a compliment that should be awarded by the recipient, not self-awarded by the person who addressed him, if you see what I mean.
I would suggest responding with something factual, such as "Shipment sent on 10/21 and arrived on 10/28 as expected" or something like that. He gets one reply if he chooses to use it, and I somehow doubt that he is going to. Even if he did, I doubt it would be anything coherent involving a missed ETA.
P.S. Are we talking about a different account here? I'm not seeing a Neg on your account anywhere within the past six months. Did it get removed already?

I'd at least try contacting ebay for business on facebook and have them look into your messages & see if they would remove it first before replying to it. Seems unwarranted for something you have no control over.
Thanks y'all for all your help. I did take all of your reply suggestions and was trying to compile them together into a good reply. I also called ebay as per @purple-rain-store suggestion (actually I was calling about something else and threw this issue in the bag too).
She removed it for me, but here was what she had to say about it. She said she sees the ebay ETA shown for the buyer was actually 10/29, not 10/24. There is no way for me to confirm this anymore since this ETA display is removed from seller view once the item is scanned as delivered. So the item was delivered on time, and she sees that the buyer left me a 1 star for communication but sees my only message reply was very polite and professional... "I don't see where the buyer's tantrum is coming from and how you were nasty at all." She thinks maybe the buyer confused me with another seller.
This buyer definitely made the cut to my BBL. I just checked and the buyer actually left two other recent negatives. "I am not receive it. Pass tow day.I just contacted the seller yesterday no body" where the seller replied "Item has been delivered on time."
And the other negative "This is the bad seller be careful watch the prices for the seller Is scam" where the seller replied "buyer ordered only 1 qty and claimed they ordered 2. they did not."
My guess is this buyer isn't playing with a full deck.

Hello
Just because a customer leaves a bad review doesn't mean much. All you have to do is call eBay explain to them the situation stating the customer claims he never got the item but when you pull up the tracking it shows that they did. Also let eBay know that this is a false claim on the customer's part and as a seller we shouldn't have to put up with this. If you just explain the situation eBay will be on your side and remove the review. Trust me as a seller there are people out there that just hate everything and try to destroy other people a little review doesn't mean anything and can be removed. After that block the customer from trying to purchase from you and make the customer look stupid. Email them saying "That we do apologize but from the tracking it shows that you got your item and we have opened a case on this and gave all the evidence to eBay showing that we have done everything correct on our end. That eBay has opened a case against you. Have wonderful day." Just leave it as that and ignore that customer because they will move on to the next buyer when they see that they can't get a rise out of you.

It is so irritating dealing with their estimated delivery dates. They are never right. With my 3 day specified handling period I should be able to buy from myself and get my item in less than 4 days. I think the system estimates based on your actual handling times and how long it takes stuff to get delivered on average.
It does. I have a 3 day handling time and have been shipping on the 2nd or 3rd day so that my average handling time is NOT using the 1 day that I used to ship by(even with the 3 day HT).
Once they get more realistic, I will go back to shipping in 1 or 2 days until they mess it up again.

Why the heck did ebay give this buyer an ETA of 3 days?
They did that because USPS says 1-3 days.
Estimated 1–3 Days

But the buyer didn't choose First Class shipping. They chose Standard Shipping which ebay advertises as 1-5 business days.
Also I can't explain why the CS agent saw the ebay ETA as 10/29. I had to ask her twice and confirm that it was not 10/24. She confirmed with me on that twice.

That feedback seems very innapropriate to the situation and how you responded courteously to their concerns. I would call in and try to get that removed. It says nothing about the product, the delivery time really anything relevant, assuming you were not AT ALL “NASTY”.

I am saying it again because the more I think about how goofy and “nasty” that feedback is to you. Call in and try to get it removed it’s just not right.

According to Message 17 (here), they did.
