Hi so my mom just sold a $950 authentic Gucci bag to a buyer and the tracking shows delivered yesterday at 4:43pm! however the buyer is claiming she didn’t get it.
My mom filmed packing and shipping the bag and confirmed it with the buyer three times!!
The package has insurance on it and the buyer denied getting signature confirmation because they claimed they don’t know what times the postman arrives
I offered to call their local post office to file a missing package complaint since it’s insured anyway and to the police to launch an investigation Incase someone stole it but they’re just being unreasonable and demanding a refund??
What can I do? We can’t lose the money and the bag!

It is important to research and learn the rules when selling online.
Ebay will count the delivery confirmation, but PayPal requires signature confirmation on all sales $750 and over.
The post office’s responsibility ends at delivery.
I’m sorry - hard lesson to learn.

As long as your tracking shows delivered to the address on file, if the buyer files a claim upload the tracking number then call eBay to close in your favor.
I personally would never sell anything that I could not afford to give away.
Keep all these emails - the buyer my file an "item not as described" and you will need proof you are being scammed.

Does the package tracking show Signature Confirmation or not? If you don't have tracking that shows Signature Confirmation then the buyer will win their "Item not received" claim with either eBay or PayPal; I don't now why posters are saying it's just PayPal. Here's the eBay policy:

How can I protect myself? I have the video of going to the post office to ship it and a video of packing the bag!
is there anyway I can get this to close in my favor or should I take the buyer to small claims court?

No, you can’t win.
Small claims isn’t easy - the problem is actually collecting.

Can I call the police in their town?
Will calling eBay and PayPal help? Even if I show proof and screenshots of their messages?

Tell the buyer you're going to file a report with their local police and also alert their local PO to the package theft, then follow through and file the reports. If this is a habit for the buyer then the added report could be the one that tips the scale. If the buyer gets your message before you file the reports and gets scared they may suddenly "find" the package.
Did the buyer actually file an item not received claim or is this all through eBay messages?
For future reference, it doesn't matter if the buyer is home to sign for it. The PO will leave a slip in their mailbox so the buyer can make arrangements to go to the PO to pick it up and sign for it or they can work with their PO to find out what approximate time delivery will be made and make sure someone is there to sign for it.
