What's up with Views and Watchers?

I was looking through our listings earlier and came across something that made me pause and wonder if the number of views and the number of watchers is to be trusted?

Especially after coming across a listing that had zero views and zero watchers and yet, only the day before, I'd received a question about that particular listing. How can someone ask a question if they haven't viewed a listing?

Also, are the "views" cumulative from the first day an item was listed or is there a new number every time an item is relisted? And is there any difference between Fixed Price and Auctions?

And if a listing has zero views and zero watchers at what point does one say "this isn't going to sell; kill the listing?"

I would chalk it off to - inaccuracy. The views and watchers are correct for the most part but i don't think they are 100% accurate all the time.

Yes, from the first day. If the listing is auto-renews, the views stay with it.

It's hard to have an item so unpopular that it has 0 views. I could list my grandmas dentures and SOMEONE will look at the listing.

Good luck selling!
