Help- Buyer wants to cancel purchase after payment has already been initiated

Hello- if a buyer asks to cancel a purchase but has already sent the payment and the transaction is at the shipping stage.

As the seller will I be out any money if I allow the cancelation I have not yet shipped the item because today the post office was closed. Because when I go to cancel the transaction it appears that the shipping fee is being charged to my card on file.  I have never had to cancel a order and just need a little guidance here, because I should not have to pay for the shipping if its not being shipped and if I am not the cause of the cancelation.

As unfortunate as it is to sell an item and get a cancellation request, accepting the request is the smartest thing to do. If the buyer doesn't want the item and if you refuse the request, you risk the buyer claiming NAD (not as described) and having to pay return shipping as well as a full refund.

If you accept the cancellation, buyer will get immediate and automatic refund. If the funds aren't in your account, the refund will be made from your bank account on record.

As for the label, you can void the label and in 15-21 days (after USPS determines that the label wasn't used), the credit for the label will show in your ebay account.

Did you pay for/print out a shipping label already?

Cancelling the shipping label is different than cancelling the transaction.  You can cancel the label in a separate action.

If you cancel the transaction, the buyer must be refunded all they paid in full.  If you do not have enough in your AVAILABLE funds (ebay took their fees already), you will have to provide the excess from your own money.  If you are a new or returning seller, the funds from this transaction will be on hold for about a month, and eBay won't allow them to be used for the cancel/refund.  You have to have money to pay for this yourself, and get reimbursed in about 30 days.
