I need help because I am getting absolutely no where with Ebay online customer service. In July of 2020 (a high issue time for USPS during the pandemic) I started having alot of issues with buyers not receiving items and opening cases. It was quite a few in July 2020 and August 2020 so much so that it shut my Ebay account down for a bit of time. I eventually made it out the other side with my account back open and everything back to normal around December 2020. Now all of the sudden in June 2021 I have been restricted from using the promted listings option on my listings. I was selling a lot last year and now I get a few sales every few days. Why now is my account being penalized(a year later)? If it's because of a yearly evaluation will I be restricted for a full year or will it lift once these defects drop off in the in next few months. I'm just genuinely confused as to why after a year with no issues this is suddenly coming up? I appreciate any help I can get.

Did you use a SCAN sheet?
That would've required ONE scan, no matter how many packages...
You may wish to start using one now, sellers who don't use SCAN sheets are making the job of the USPS more difficult and may even be contributing to the overall problem.
Please, any more than ONE package print a SCAN sheet!

@gjs_16 So how does a scan sheet work, is there one master bar code to scan or does the clerk simply go down the page and scan each tracking number?

Ok I'll be fully transparent I started selling weights during the pandemic (I know it's very controversial) but my postal worker gated picking up 10-50lb packages and losts of them. I had a lot of buyers who were probably only ebay to make one purchase then not shop there again since it was really the only place I know of that you could get waleights at the time. I had one post office refuse to accept packages from me anymore, they literally said do not come here anymore and told me I need to drive my packages to a hub very far from my house which was not feasible for me to do everyday. I called the post master who just referred me back to the post office and had me talk to the Manger who told me the same thing so there was zero resolution and zero accountability with them. That's when I started scheduling pickups from my own post office which is very small and not as equipped to handle the amounts of items I was bringing them. I did complain about the postal worker to the main person in charge at that post office but again with it being a small location it was more of like oh I'll talk to him type of deal and nothing was ever resolved. I'm assuming the reason this has come up now from everyone's replies is that I was being evaluated on the past 3 months for a while but since my selling numbers have dropped so much it has switched to the past 12 month review so that's why these items are messing with my status again. Since the issues I had were in July and August of last year they should drop in the next few months bumping my status back up and I will forever Be done with those problems. I would like to thank you though for taking time out of your day to reply to me and help me, I do sincerely appreciate it!

In my post I did state I was inexperienced and looking back I should have used a scan sheet so it is only a change I can make now going forward.

Yes it's been vital for me too so I'm stuck for 2 months so I suppose it's time for me find other platforms to sell on which is OK.

The workers at your PO never had to wear masks and you didn't think that was just a little dangerous?
Did the Governor of your state not mandate the wearing of masks?
So you had unvaccinated PO workers not wearing masks and interacting with postal customers also not wearing masks?

I am very sorry to hear that, Ebay seems to have no compassion that we aren't all official businesses and that sometimes it's just us as individuals with no one to pick up the slack if we are going through personal hardships.

I don't think it's fair to say the we would game the system. I think we as sellers should know what's going on and they should be fully transparent about their terms and practices especially when it comes to selling fees. you have to dig deep to find real answers when there should be clear messages sent saying stating the issues their having with you as a seller and the consequences that follow.

yes I think I understand the issue. I think in the next few months once the issues drop off I'll be back to normal and I will never have this same issue again.

I run at least one 30 day Campaign per quarter to take advantage of the $ 30 AD fee credit eBay gives Store Owners for Promoted listings, that's using house money so it is not a bad choice.
Mr. Lincoln, they discontinued the allowance after the first quarter I think.........so you're not getting the free credit now.....

What is a SCAN Form?
The USPS Shipment Confirmation Acceptance Notice, known as a SCAN Form, is a piece of paper with a master barcode that includes all the packages associated with a group shipment. At the time of pick-up, the USPS employee scans the barcode on the SCAN form to disseminate tracking info for all the packages rather than scanning each package individually. This single step saves a lot of time for USPS employees.
When the barcode is scanned, the package information is instantly transmitted into the USPS tracking database, notifying both shippers and recipients that their shipments have entered the USPS mailstream and that the shipping process has started. After being scanned, shippers and package recipients can track and check the status of their packages using the USPS Tracking number.
Looks like this:
