We're shipping a sale today anyway -- actually I myself don't have one at this moment but the spouse just sold something on Poshmark -- because the package will fit in the lobby drop box and the Self Serve Kiosk can be used to scan a provisional Acceptance on it. If your post office is like ours, someone will be emptying the drop box on Monday regardless of the holiday, and the mail keeps moving behind the scenes 24/7. I mailed a package last Labor Day weekend that was at the origin sort facility by Monday night.

I do hope that eBay counts Monday as a holiday as they should, but I'm going to get a jump on the shipping anyway.

Okay, just a quick update here to say that I got a Provisional Acceptance via the SSK in the lobby this morning, and someone in our PO gave it a scanned Acceptance about three hours later, 12:43 p.m. local time. I'm going to check later to see if it spends tonight in our PO or shows up someplace further down the line.

...and the answer is: it traveled overnight last night, and showed up at the origin sort facility in Elk Grove Village (IL) at 5:59 a.m. this morning, so I did score a day of travel by getting it into their hands via the SSK and drop box yesterday morning. Buyer should be receiving it probably tomorrow.

The timestamp of email confirmation shows that Poshmark did indeed accept the Provisional Acceptance by the kiosk scan as proof of shipping (i.e. without waiting for the PO employee's scan about three hours later), and I believe eBay does as well.
