Handling time

Hello sellers---I have my handling time set at 3 days, which I assume means 3 business days.  Usually I can ship next business day.  I changed it because once I was sick and could not get it out the next business day.  I double checked today and all of my listings are 3 days.  I just sold an item  today 10/10/2024.  When I pulled up the sale, it said ship by NOVEMBER 4th !!!!. It also said in red that this more than 13 days. What happened ?  I checked again and  went to active sales, hit edit, hit all 250 items, clicked over to handling time and it said 3 days. I checked several listings individually and I cannot see in the listing where it tells buyers or me, the handling time.  Can someone explain and help me ?  Thanks

I think that ship by note is some kind of system deadline at which point you would get a defect on your account, and has nothing to do with what you have listed as your handling time.

 

If I may be so bold I would suggest that you change the handling back to 1 day, I think it makes a world of difference.

 

And this is coming from someone who only has free shipping on standard, and has expedited and one-day shipping marked up about 200-500%.

The only way I can think of that would happen is if you have set up Time Away but allowed sales; that would add the "time away" interval on top of your stated handling time. But I don't see any notice about "Away" at the top of your listings.

 

I checked 3 of your listings; two were as you described: 3-day handling and notification about delayed delivery. The other one, a book, had 1-day handling and no notice about delayed delivery.

Hi-- I do not have time away set unless unbeknownst to me ebay has set time away Also why would the listings say different things.  When I check, all listings are set to 3 days.  Should I try to contact ebay technical support ?

I can try to set it back to one day but will that show up as one day or will some wonky thing happen? Thanks for the reply

Do you have Monday - Friday checked?

 

Or do you see something weird like only Sunday is checked?

 

Make sure you have M-F checked, but not weekends. For cut off time put "not offered."

No prob and I can see that fixed it. Your listings no longer have an extended delivery flag.
