yeahhh,,
i just got off the phone with paypal....
i was complaining about their new policy that was to go in to effect today ,, regarding.. they will not keep the 3% transaction fees on purchases even if the item is returned..
The paypal rep(located in the us).. gave me the good news.. paypal received so much pushback.. they are putting a hold on the policy change..!!! I.E. for now,, they WILL NOT be keeping the transaction fees on every purchase, .. thus,, when sellers get a return or cancelation.. all fees other than the 30 cents will be returned to the seller!

I just now looked at the paypal policy updates page. Absolutely no mention of backing down on the fee grab.

I don't want to be skeptical, but... I'm totally skeptical. I wonder what percentage of transactions are refunded, reversed or canceled overall? Anyone know? I bet it's a ton of revenue.

Maybe they had a chat with their legal team, who told them this probably can and will be challenged in litigation, or via numerous State Attorney Generals getting involved.

Starting to sound like another CS rep telling the caller what the caller wants to hear. Any resemblance to reality is purely coincidental.

I'm positive,, I was calling to complain,,, and the customer service rep stopped me in my tracks...
said they were informed this morning when he came into work..
someone else can certainly call and verify,

Im as skeptical as the rest of you,, I challenged him and asked several times are you sure!.. are you absolutely sure!..
then I asked when he was told.. and that's when he told me they were informed when they came into work today.

I'm as skeptical as the rest of you.. I questioned the rep several times.. asking are you sure, are you absolutely sure.. and then i asked, when did you find out about this , because it hasn't been announced anywhere i can see..
he said they were told this morning... and that he couldn't guarantee it was never going to happen,, but as of now,, paypal received so much pushback that they are rethinking the policy,,and it won't be implemented today as originally scheduled.
