Good Morning Everyone.
I had one item out of two removed, the message read
"We had to remove you listing because it didn't follow our Animal products policy. Products from endangered or protected species are not allowed and other wildlife products need to include specific information"
The title/description of the item states "Antique Miniature Portrait Painting in Celluloid Faux Ivory Frame, Signed"
In trying to solve the issue I discovered that there is no longer customer service.
Does anyone have any idea of how I can resolve the issue or how I could reach someone at Ebay other than Facebook (I don't do Facebook).
Thanks

It's not JUST the word ivory. It's the word ivory with an item that could be made of ivory. For years, over a decade actually, people have been saying not to use the word ivory at all. I sell clothes. I call ivory clothes "ivory" & never stopped doing that a decade ago when all the fear mongering came out. Never in all these years have I had a warning or take down. The bot appears to be 'smart' enough to not flag it, if it's not something that could be made of ivory. There's no reason to be afraid of using the word, but on a picture frame, I would suggest skipping it.

The word ivory has several definitions - the robots don't know which one you are referring to or what animal it may have come from
Solution: as other have already said avoid using it and life will be good again

That's very bad advice.

How so? It has served me well for 20+ years & I use the word ivory to refer to a color ALL the time. The bot has clearly been programmed to only get things that 'could' be ivory. It wasn't that way, when it was first introduced, maybe 12-15 years ago. At that time, it did pick up clothing, etc, but that was fixed pretty quickly, over a decade ago.
ETA: Ivory is even a choice in our Ebay-supplied drop downs for color in CSA category, so it absolutely IS allowed.

Just because it's an ebay supplied choice doesn't mean it's allowed. Consistency isn't their strong point.

"And it's easy to find who you are talking to by asking the time of day or the weather" or you could just ask them what country they are in.

We’re you ever able to get it resolved and we’re you able to list other items

The word "ivory" triggered the algorithm to flag your listing, most likely.

Well, they have to protect the faux elephants........... Very popular in canned trophy hunts.
Forget it, you can't explain as they are clueless.

The plastic white elephants of the world thank them. Bots (SMH).
All I can using polite language. Bots has become a cussword.

I realize this but every time I try to list a new item or relist something that did not sell that animal thing comes up and stops me! Am I in eBay jail? Or do they punish you so you cannot sell 22 years never an issue. I don’t know what to do

Other sellers who have been caught in this siutation, have reported that they are not able to list or revise listings with the words antique, vintage, carved, or bone. They get a warning that they are not allowed to use those words, and as long as they remove them, they can list.
Your list of words may be slightly different. It appears that eBay may be applying this restriction for sellers who have used wording that teases the possibility that the item may really be ivory, in other words, that the listing may have been illegally selling something of ivory. Some sellers were confirmed to have teased the possibility of ivory, but the items were almost certainly not ivory. Even if you don't feel you have done this, you will have to live with the restriction now.
