HELP with tracking

Please help...I've sold my 2nd item on EBay...the tracking number that was provided by USPS after I printed the EBay level.  Tracked couple days after item was picked up at my home, the tracking info showed it had arrived  at the post office in the city where she lived but item was "intercepted by the seller" I contacted customer service via their call back service. EBay rep told me to disregard what it said on the tracking updates. He then assured me the item had been delivered. Seller has now messaged me it was not delivered. I've been trying to reach customer service SOMEHOW via live chat, call back, send them an email...all to no avail. Don't want to refund cause EBay rep assured me it had been delivered. Can anyone help me

Re: HELP with tracking

For some reason, I feel the buyer is not being truthful. Just the tone of the messages she wrote me? I sure hope I'm wrong, it bothers me that  is says that I (seller/sender) initiated the interception. I wouldn't even know how to do this. Really didn't even realize that interception was a thing. I would LOVE to figure this out. I'm now a little concerned that someone has my info...as I'm not under the impression the sender is the only one able to initiate an interception??

Re: HELP with tracking

I'm sorry, yes i am SELLER. And I didn't even know interceptions were a thing...

I did check USPS website directly and it has the same tracking info. I will certainly call USPS tomorrow. Thank you so very much for taking the time to try and help me figure this out

Re: HELP with tracking

mtgraves,

Unfortunately, the PO is across the country. I feel like I should contact their post office rather than mine (or does it even matter which one?) Yes, the item did make it to the post office in the city I mailed to...it seems like it was there that it was intercepted.  I printed an EBAY label and scheduled a package pickup. Apparently, that all went according to plan..

Re: HELP with tracking

Based on that tracking, I would pursue an investigation with the USPS.

I don't see how the buyer can scam like that as they don't have access to the USPS. It appears more that the delivery person input inappropriate information in the scan as the last valid scan was "Out for Delivery".

I suspect the buyer got the item and there is a bad final scan. If you aren't able to get some valid document from the USPS to show customer initiation or that it was actually delivered from the USPS then you will be on the hook for a refund.

Why does that bother you, I'm not sure I understand.  You are both the seller and the sender.  To my knowledge you are the only one that can initiate an interception and there is a fee for doing that as well.

To figure it out, you have to contact USPS NOT Ebay.  USPS has the records.  USPS takes pics of packages all along their journey as well.

That is from 2018.  It could be something thieves are still doing, but for you contacting USPS and finding out what is going on is your best bet at this point.  And where did they redirect the package to because the tracking doesn't tell you.

It may be, but don't ASSUME it is.  Get the FACTS.  And you can only get those from USPS.

What is it the buyer said that made you question their veracity?

It is fine as long as you black out any identifying info.  Names, addresses, transaction number, member ID, etc.
