Did you mean:

Gullty until proven innocent and then your still guilty

Today I received and account restriction that was clearly a mistake.     I showed both the ebay representative both the restriction message that I received and then the ebay policy that did not cover the item I was selling..... it was plainly black and white and the restriction still stands.

This is super frustrating because appealing to ebay third party support is like talking to a brick wall yet you have to go through them to get an issue resolved.

Any ideas here?

That's correct because it's not an airsoft gun....it's a paintball gun

Airsoft have orange tips........bb guns and paintball do not

I'm just not sure what you're asking the Community. You have a reasonable response for every idea presented, and you've even stated:

"This is not a bot takedown......this is a manual team member takedown...... I go through this about 3 times a year...... each involving about 9 calls to ebay and 6 hours of my time."

I's apparent from the replies that you are much more knowledgeable about listing paintball guns than other members. What is it you're asking of the discussion-board participants?

SO what's happening with Ebay customer service here is that that are simply getting worse in responding to a sellers needs....... bot are now answering ebay facebook pages......

Was wondering if anyone had a new approach to getting in contact with ebay customer service.

Really? What makes you say that? The Facebook/Twitter customer service representatives get pretty high reviews and recommendations in the Community. Has that  changed? Has your experience been different?

Yup a bot answered my FB message and nothing since last night...about 12 hours now

FB takes a couple days; probably more with the holiday. 12 hours is not enough time.

Anyway, it was a BOT takedown- there are not ANY humans doing 'takedowns'. Might've been a 'person' responding and a 'person' created the email message...but it was 'spotted' by a bot.

Why not just list a Paintball Gun without using the Size in the title?

Well headed into day 3 with the restriction....... the search ban really kicking in now.....everything down over 15%......

Sent a little over and hour today on the phone wiht US customer support.....everything was documented.....the CSR agreed with me but had to be sent up to management for approval.

Logically this will cost ebay about $300 in selling fees for not just turning the account back on.......this is beyond silly.

They did finally really and told me they could do nothing for me and to call support.

Ebay  becoming a shining example of really really bad customer service.

Well....6 calls / chat in with ebay about 4 hours on the phone....no luck....... when ebay customer service pressed ont he terms written in black and white.....they simply create some type of lie and make up a new policy that is not written down.

So 6 calls and 6 different answers........which is not helpful.......I have only been able to get one person on the phone from Ebay US....she realized ebay made a mistake told me she did not have the authority to remove the suspension but that management would and I would be clear in 48 hours......crickets.

After 23 years of selling I fully expect to be banned form the ebay website because there is nobody you can get on chat or on the phone to logically talk to.

Here is the final update on this ordeal..........

Ebay has finally set the lowest bar for customer service that I have ever experienced......  agents on chat and phone are now free to belittle, berate and threaten to ban you for trying to work your way through a topic that I was right about in the end.

It all wound up with customer service agent #7 and about 5 hours of total time.    The online chat took about 90 minutes to complete...... in the end I was able to point to the correct policy for paintball that was actually not in the airguns policy.......the account was finally restored with an apology.

It's utterly amazing the contempt that Ebay has for its sellers.....this is a straight down from the top culture that has gone to an entirely new level (low).

Shame on you ebay......maybe management should start reading these forums, facebook posts (which they like to delete), tweets, and online reviews so they can stop wondering why their business is bleeding out

they are horrible, always making up or misinterpreting their own rules, They do always show up to claim their 13% without fail though
