I shipped on the 18th of March and it arrived on the 22nd. USPS ... Available for pickup ... I sent the buyer a message letting them know that I was tracking their item and it was available for pickup.
March 27th... USPS Delivery attempt ...with a reminder to schedule redelivery of your item per USPS or it will be returned to sender.
My gut says to let it be and not send any additional messages. I don't know what happens if it is returned. I would not want to keep their money.

Seems that they have gotten two USPS notices of attempted delivery, and a reminder from you. I for sure would not message again.
When such are returned to me, if postage was not a great amount, I then message the buyer to let them know and refund in full as "problem with buyer address".
For such, eBay does not require us to refund, but I just take the loss and move on. Buyers can find ways to make a seller's life miserable.

If the buyer wants it reshipped, they can pay you another shipping charge.
Or refund minus any fees and the original shipping charge.

@buyselljack2016 just to be clear. Would that include the $5. plus in Ebay fees and the $10. plus shipping? Over $16. that I would have to absorb?

If/when it is returned, you are not obligated to do anything or refund anything.
It was the buyers fault that it was not deliverable, not yours.
In most cases like this, most sellers will refund the buyer LESS SHIPPING and be done with it.
Again, you are not obligated to do that. You can keep the $$$ and keep the returned item.

When you refund eBay also refunds your fees (since May of 2022). If you refund only the item amount and keep the shipping portion just add 15% to the shipping and refund the rest.
This is a very rare event for me but when I get a return to sender I send one message to the buyer and leave it at that, if they respond we work it out (reship or refund) if I never get a reply I just put it a box that I use for this purpose.
I have maybe half a dozen of these unclaimed packages, the oldest one is probably from 20 years ago the most recent one was during the height of Covid in 2020.
Into your life it will creep

It's not usually recommended to chase a buyer when there's no delivery scan (or if the item is awaiting pickup).
It can happen that the buyer did receive it and the carrier just forgot or neglected to scan as delivered.
But in this instance, attempted delivery or failure to pick it up invalidates the buyer's MBG (money back guarantee) for non-receipt although as recommended by others, I'd issue a refund for the item price less any non-recoverable fees and original shipping.

Exactly what @albertabrightalberta said, I don't even send 1 notice. It's on them to pick up their pkgs LOL.
You're not required to do anything if it comes back to you. I set them aside for awhile in case I hear from the buyer.

@simply-the-best-for-you @albertabrightalberta @slippinjimmy Thank you all for your input.
I just hope that the buyer is okay, and I will definitely be refunding them, if in fact it is returned.

It's always so weird when it happens. I never understand. One I kept for almost a year & never heard from her.
