Check your seller preferences to see if you have been opted into Guaranteed Delivery.  I checked and was shocked to find that ebay is opting me into programs that I want nothing to do with.

Save me some time and tell me where the feature is please. I see the only listings that don't have 4 day handling have been opted in and I want to opt out.

Hit your account tab and then it's in the site - seller preferences.  About the middle third of the options.

They auto opted me last week and I had a fit. To opt out click your"acctount tab". On the left you will click "site preferences" and "guaranteed delivery" is the 4th down on the list.

I was notified that I had been "opted in" on one account.

My listings do not qualify, as I have 2 day handling on all listings. I was a bit concerned, as some have stated that eBay will go by your "historical shipping and handling" performance.

I ship same day, or next day, but like many sellers use the 2 day handling just in case personal/power/internet issues cause a delay.

At this point none of my listings are being shown as GD.  Not that it matters, as although sales have not flatlined, there is barely a pulse.

My other account also shows as GD, but I was never notifed (blues said we would be notified) that I was opted in. No listings there show GD to buyers.

Don't know about wife's account. No notification, but may also show it is in seller preferences.

Oopsie !!!!    Just checked an item that she is selling, and clicked on GD. She has 2 showing. Possibly she does not have the 2 day handling on those. Seems all is well. Only GD to close Zips.  Next state away is not GD.

Very strange. I think she has other items listed as "USPS Priority shipping" that could fall right into GD delivery wise even with 2 handling.  I also have some things that are "Priority" shipping, and only show as "fast and free" to my Zip.

May have to go "opt out" on all.  Even though eBay will foot the bill at this time for failure, they will not foot the fallout of a buyer being disappointed by a "promise" that we did not make.

They've opted me in, as they had told me they would. However, my items don't show up in a GD search (I use FC or Priority for all my items). When I do a GD search on my items when logged in with my buying ID, I get a popup asking me to update my zip code. When I type it in and click to continue, nothing happens; the popup just stays there.

If they won't show my items in a GD search, I'll be opting out.

I have a 3 day handling on all my listings and was still opted in.

I received no warning email from ebay.

They're just opting everyone in (and then saying only your ELEGIBLE listings will display GD)

Yeah, and most of us suspect how that's going to work out for us in the near future...wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

I opted out and explained that since the Post Office doesn't guarantee delivery on it's basic shipping methods, why is ebay doing it for me?

I have been checking my Site Preferences every few days since they announced this, and couldn't opt out because there wasn't even a "Guaranteed Delivery" section on my Site Preferences dashboard.

I thought perhaps the reason why GD wasn't showing up in my Site Preferences was because like @buyselljack2016 I figured I wouldn't qualify, as I have 2-day handling for many of the same reasons he described.   HOWEVER, big surprise this weekend when I went in to my Site Preferences to check on something else. I had been opted in with no notice from eBay at all.

When I manually opted out, I had to laugh. Up comes a pop-up box asking me *why* I was opting out.  I wrote in:   "Because eBay opted me into this program against my will and without notice."  Doubt it will make any difference, but I figured:  "Hey!  You asked!"  😉

Now, I'm wondering if I'm going to have to keep my eye on this setting just to make sure either through yet another glitch or "just because they can" I'll be opted back in.  😞

Like @buyselljack2016 my sales also have been in the dumper.  I had 14 sales for all of the month of May. Zip so far for the month of June which I know -- has just started -- but I usually get at least one sale over the weekend and for the second weekend in a row, zip, nada, zilch.

Hard to think that things are only going to get worse *unless* you go along with eBay's latest bright idea whatever that may be which very rarely works for everyone including sellers like me.   ðŸ˜ž

Same here automatic opt in.

I opted out, as you did, stating I did not trust the carriers to guarantee their delivery time! Therefore, how can I commit to a promise I can not keep:)

I love the phrases they use for the "why do you want to opt out" question..... the closest to true was "I never meant to opt in in the first place." WHAT? Implying that I made a mistake opting in, instead of being shoved down the rabbit hole forcefully.

Every time they auto-enroll (GSP comes to mind) it goes against best web practices. These kinds of choices should ALWAYS be opt-in, not an opt-out after you're put in.

Previous threads have stated that if you have not yet been "opted in" it will not appear for you to "opt out"
