Great Communication Ebay.........NOT!

So being unemployed I was putzing around and being bored I actually clicked on the "All Selling" tab, something I rarely do, and then I actually scrolled all the way to the bottom to find I had a promotional offer of 100 free listings that expires tomorrow.  Yep, no e-mail, no ,message, just a note at the bottom of a very long page that I usually don't bother to open up. Are you kidding me? Are your corporate masters this daft?  Anyhow, I did click on the offer but as yet I am still being charged the 35¢ listing fee.

Sorry that you had to scroll all the way down that page rather than ebay call you personally.

And did you read the entire promotion to see what items qualify such as they need to be new listings and 30 day.

What is even worse is that it's not just for listing something fixed price - you have to use Bust Offer on it, too.  You have to read the first paragraph to see it.  If you didn't, you could start listing thinking that everything is find and upload them and start paying when you run out of the 50 free.

ebay likes to slip little things in like that to keep you on your toes, and make some extra money off the inexperienced.

Re: Great Communication Ebay.........NOT!

I received my offer and have used them all.

I check for offers everyday - being proactive.

The offer is for 100 free 30 day listing "buy it now or best offer"

There have been many on here the last few days who failed to read the offer and were not checking the "best offer" box

Re: Great Communication Ebay.........NOT!

I'm somewhat easily boggled, so it boggles me that ebay does not send promos to my personal e-mail...they do have it on file. My e-mail tab is always open, and I get alerts.
I do not check ebay messages everyday...just not in my DNA.

I look at Messages, and there's even a notification at the top of the page that I have one.  Since that's how my buyers (yes, MY) ask questions and such.  Sometimes they'll send me Messages about promotions, sometimes not.  When they do, there's usually a delay of several days though, because their Message system is poor.

Don't worry... the last "offer" I took them up on, they didn't honor it anyhow.

Re: Great Communication Ebay.........NOT!

Besides having to be one of the chosen to actually recveive an invite (I'm in a drought at the moment but usually get them) they are designed so that you have to WORK for them. That is if you consider checking for them on a regular basis to be "work".

Since these things started in 2012 I've been offered hundreds of listing promos, I might have recieved a specific email notice 10 times.

First thing to set up in My eBay or Sellers Hub is to move the promo box right up front where I can't miss it and make it on the Landing Page.

It's pretty easy if you have only one selling id, slightly annoying if have a bunch of active id's but the only alternative would be to stop the offers completely. I appreciate them, in my case they both save me money AND generate additional revenue for both of us.

I do not ask that Ebay call me personally; however, I do ask that I be notified either by e-mail or by Ebay messaging.  The details of the promotion were not the basis of my complaint.

If you are expecting that then you have likely missed a huge number of promo offers.

Re: Great Communication Ebay.........NOT!

By the way, I do check my messages daily and in the past I have been notified by Ebay of such promotions via their messaging platform. I do have a host of inexpensive items that I only list with these free listing promotions, so I do keep an eye out for these promotions.

Also, this particular promotion has few qualifiers or exceptions. I have attempted to list items but it still shows a listing fee being applied so it remains a no go for me.

According to the posts above you need to use the best offer option to take advantage of this promo.

Re: Great Communication Ebay.........NOT!

Au contraire, I read the details of the offer extended to me and it did not require best offer.
