Was browsing to find prices and came across an item that I was getting ready to relist. I thought I had made an error and listed twice. Clicked on the listing and find that another seller is using my pictures. Why would they do that when it is used clothing and each piece of used clothing I have ever seen is unique.
I read their feedback and only 98.1% because of 24 negatives over the last 12 months for photos not matching the items.
Really makes me mad to see sellers like this on ebay.

Because they don't have a camera
Because it is easier
Because it is faster
Because their item is also used
Because it is the same color
Because it is the same type
Because they don't have knowledge of uploading photos from camera
Because they have computer problems uploading
Because buyers won't know the difference
Because they don't care
Because they believe it is no big deal
Because the picture you took is better than theirs

Yes what that guy said. Best regards

I am thinking with all the negatives the buyers are noticing the difference.

Naaaa, it takes no energy at all.

OR, how about that ebay thought it was a good pic and put it into their catalog for anyone to use?

Not necessarily. Even if they took their own pictures they could still have all those negatives. Very few seller describe correctly as most think a picture is good enough and buyers should expect their lousy description.

In 2014 when selling a lot of vintage pottery planters, I did a search for one of them to see where it sat in active search. Saw my same pix (Brush McCoy), my identical description and panicked I did a dupe, too. But no, it was because of that eBay note on listings "want to sell one like this?" Newbie seller not only stole the pixs, but the entire listing, including my Item Specifics. My saving grace was that I put my inventory number in all my Item Specifics and it was there in her listing.
Sent her an ask seller message, told her to delete the listing or I would report her. She immediately took it down and said she had somehow used that eBay suggestion. I never reported her, but at least she removed it. Not sure if that ebay suggestion still works that way, but it is still there on all listings.

That could be a viable explanation as it is no big deal to see a picture of a shirt regardless of who's it is.
eBay said preowned clothing would be one of the few categories not converting to product-based.
I think sellers taking others' photos for preowned anything are looking for the easy way out, probably because they are lazy or don't have a strong work ethic.

Yeah, but used clothing? That sure is risky. No wonder they have 24 negatives for item not looking like the picture and anyone that does that is just asking for trouble.
