Yesterday I got a notice that I have a a duplicate listing, this is the first one in years. I relist my items as "sell similar" and I know I have to remove from the unsold manually. So this morning and again this evening I relisted some items and after checking I noted 3 duplicate listing. Do we have a glitch ? Should I report this ? I know having to many duplicate listing are not good with Ebay.

Funny because last night I used the bulk lister & had 48 going up 1 had the red ! and said duplicate listing not permitted , so it caught it.
But ever time I do a bunch of listings I use Shipscripts dupe listing tool. It has saved me more then once
and takes only a minute

I ran it just now and found 2 recent duplicates. Thanks for the reminder to check!

This is happening to me too. Almost every time I list a new item or sell similar it automatically makes a duplicate. Then I have to end the listing on the second one. I've called eBay twice and they have reported it to their technical department, but nothing has changed. It's also deducting 2 available listings instead of 2. I've probably lost over 20 of my free listings because of this. Please call to report this. The reps don't know what to do and seem to think I'm doing something wrong when relisting.

I use sell similar and get a hand slap BEFORE it goes live.
I mix it up, last night was sell similar & I got the red ! So it caught it
sometimes I use relist , Now I will have to check, but OP said she/he used sell similar so suprised ebay didn't catch it prior to it listing.

My guess is that the eBay software originally thought that you are listing from China (where apparently duplicate listings are allowed), but soon realized that you are a US based seller ...

Conventional wisdom on here says that if you use sell similar, Cassini gives you a boost because it thinks it's a NEW listing.
Then again, conventional wisdom and folklore are hard to distinguish about Cassini.

If you run this checker http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/DuplicateListings.htm it shows you have one which you don't because its a different item, but the bots go wacky sometimes and see it as a dup. Do yourself a favor and add A B C D to your titles to keep the bots away...

Tried that link and it did not work.

You should PM most of the Chinese sellers, they're masters at it.
Just mix up one bit of non-critical listing info and it'll probably work.

Im amused by the answers it's eBay causing this but all the innocent listers are taking the blame for this plus forfeiting free listings..I mentioned this same problem about a duplicate listing being made at time of listing but it appears the problem is still there..I was told to check if I had an association with webinterpret ..have you any association?

I used it and it gave me over 80 "duplicates" - none of which out of the first 25 I looked at were dupes. I didn't bother to look at the rest because it would have taken a half-hour.
