Got negative feedback saying "too expensive"/How to refund without defect?

I just got my first negative feedback in years saying the item is too expensive. Is this ridiculous enough for eBay support to remove it as he obviously agreed to the price when he purchased it (I also offer a very significant quantity discount for buying just 2, even more for 3, etc.)?

Also, I have a satyisfaction guarantee so I will refund him, but I know from experience eBay gives major "out of stock" defects when you refund someone now, so how can I refund him without getting a defect?

Thank you

Sounds like your buyer is just trying to use your satisfaction guarantee.

The only way to avoid a defect is by having the buyer open a return request.

The listing is a little confusing but you should contact eBay & see if they’ll remove it because the buyer did know the price beforehand.

While searching for his payment I saw he bought the exact same item a few years ago when my prices were actually higher and he was perfectly happy back then.

At this point, why would you refund the buyer?   If they choose to return, they open a return.

Don't you DARE!

If the buyer has a problem, they can open a return.   They are counting on you refunding them to get rid of the neg. Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it!

Dont refund, dont do anything. If the buyer wants a refund, they can contact you for one.

I would call and try to get it removed. I have gotten similar taken off. Buyer is commenting on something not related to service or the item but something that was 100% in their control. If the first rep won't take it off, call back.

ebay might remove that neg if you give them a call.

Don't issue a refund.

If the neg is not removed, don't worry, that one neg won't affect your sales..

I disagree. The OP clearly states a “satisfaction guarantee or your money back” on his listings. The buyer is not satisfied with what he got for the price. OP left the door wide open for this to happen. I’m not on the buyers side here.  But I don’t think it’s right to offer a satisfaction guarantee and then try to get an unsatiafied buyers negative feedback removed.....

Many things are too expensive.

A $20 burger at McDonalds is too expensive. A $20 burger from a much better restaurant is a deal.

I could agree to buy an arrangement of silk flowers for $50. If you then send me a bunch of dollar store flowers, that would be too expensive. $50 for a nice well made silk arrangement would be fine. $50 for those would be too expensive. It could ewasily be too expensive for the item received.

This was a $6.99 sale, so it's worth losing the money if the buyer agrees to remove the negative feedback.

I just got off the phone with eBay and they refused to remove it but I will try calling again if the buyer refuses to remove it himself.

If you insist on refunding the buyer, don't offer the buyer a refund in exchange for feedback revision because that would be a policy violation.

Bear in mind, if you issue a refund, you may still get to keep the neg.

Considering the buyer should have contacted the seller before leaving the neg, I would try and get it removed.  Nor do I see the door as wide open because of a satisfaction. Guarantee either.
