Well after 21 plus years I have decided to leave ebay. I think their fees have gone way too up and their service has gone way too down. I have checked out a few other younger sites with lower rates and will be giving them a try next. I think through time a new community of great collectibles and collectors can be established else ware.

So many posts of the same here...especially from veteran sellers. It is sad because it is people like you who helped build ebay to what it is today. It seems now ebay only focuses on the high dollar items, like rolex's, boats, new cars, designer purses etc. Those of us that are from the venue of collectables, pre owned, used, vintage, hand made have been kicked to the curb so to speak. They have destroyed our categories with the specifics changes and it has been a nightmare for many. I believe there is a lot of seller remorse, but more so...disappointment. This is usually the busiest time of the year for many of us, but so far, not so. Ebays stocks are down, investors are reconsidering their investments and it's all very frustrating for so many. I can only say I wish you well in what ever you do in the future. Thank you for being a valuable seller to the ebay community and I hope what every comes your way will be a success for you. Much Aloha.

Sad to see the loyal seller's leaving, but personally I think you are doing the right thing.
Good luck in any new venture you find that works for you

@alienqueen1 has left the building everyone.
I gotta question, how come you had to wait to leave here in order to try other places? Why couldn’t you test out those places and wind down here simultaneously?

"Why couldn’t you test out those places and wind down here simultaneously?"
Exactly! been there done that...
For the past 3 years I have had all my items listed on another site...a smaller lesser known site, which did well for me for about 2 years...until about 7 months ago when sales fell off the cliff, just as they had done for me 5 years ago on eBay...
I also tried Facebook Marketplace which did ok for several weeks, but now not so much.
I have not listed anything on eBay since April of this year, but am giving consideration to returning to eBay...Despite having to sign up for MP, the increase in fees, the categories changes, not sure how this will all play out but will have to see...

I think that when one finds ones self in a difficult relationship The best thing is to cut all ties.
Then take some time off to re-group, re-focus and see what else is out there.

But eBay isn’t like a man. If you go for their competition simultaneously with eBay, no one will think you are cheating on eBay.

Can I just say OK, go look, don't close any doors. eBay still has value in this market and ending an account isn't the best choice. You may come back, you may not, but it still is worth keeping. You just never know.

See you back here real soon.

But hey, it's like my old grandma used to say 'men are like streetcars, another one will be along in 15 minutes.' (insert 'selling sites' for 'men').
Still amazed that there are people here who have NEVER sold anywhere else - I mean, in decades? Really?

I started on eBay in 2001 and it was the third or fourth (I can't remember which) site I started on - the two goth sites where I sold had been going since 1996, Ruby Lane since 1998 and somewhere else. I guess because I had come here from elsewhere I thought everyone roved around.
