Well after 21 plus years I have decided to leave ebay. I think their fees have gone way too up and their service has gone way too down. I have checked out a few other younger sites with lower rates and will be giving them a try next.  I think through time a new community of great collectibles and collectors can be established else ware.

Once you notify eBay that you want to close your account, it will be in a hold pattern for 60 days to let any returns or transactions play out. eBay will make it unworkable, but the account and feedback will still be here for 60 days.

So you safely have 59 days to go explore and try out other platforms. If you decide to come back here, ask eBay to reactivate your account and they will return control of it to you.

I did this and returned here on about day 48, still not sure exactly why.......

During the time away, I was on Mercari and found it to be a race to the bottom price.....sellers there promote their items by lowering their price, buyers always holding out for an even lower price yet. It's not a place for full -time sellers for sure, more for getting rid of closet or garage junk when you don't really care what it sells for.

Respect your opinion!!! Ebay is a big market but it doesn't specialize in a particular area as you say so it will make it difficult for certain product lines, 21 years is also considered an effort to be worthy of what you do later. this!!

I also took a break from eBay and tried Etsy, Bonanza, Biblio, the Ruby Lane clone and a few I don't even remember the names of.  Sold a (very) few things elsewhere and finally came back here.  Didn't last long though, too many changes, glitches and just not for me anymore...but over 20 years and four ID's...fun while it lasted.

OP, good luck to you though I fear you will need it.

Seriously, trying out other sites is easy.  You don't need to close any accounts here.  This isn't a loyalty test.  Just start listing somewhere else and see what happens.

I think the same. It is like keep working with my boss while I look for another job. Once you catch something, give your 15 day notice and leave doors open, you never know when you'll need their help again
