Just got the following email from GoDaddy. Of course, that is the service I use. I hate change.
After much consideration, we've made the decision to discontinue Online Bookkeeping on June 18, 2022. At that time, the Online Bookkeeping tool will stop importing transactions from your connected channels and your existing data will be archived. To provide you with the best possible experience going forward, we've partnered with Intuit to offer you a special discount on QuickBooks Online.
Anyone have experience with QuickBooks, good or bad?

I guess it helps to sleep on it lol.
Here's what I discovered this morning: I checked the P&L statement and compared it to GoDaddy's year to date. Quickbooks was off by $94 which is exactly what I owe PayPal Credit. I had linked PayPal to it yesterday so Quickbooks put this amount into accounts payable. Quickbooks still does not show individual transactions prior to March 4th so I am guessing it just took what was in GoDaddy as a starting point and only included the individual transactions from March 4th on. My recommendation about this is to religiously run end of month and either print out the transaction report, P&L statement and Balance Sheet or download them into a CVS file for future reference.
Second: I am now very glad that I linked the business checking account to Quickbooks. It considers ALL sales to be a receivable regardless of where it is in processing, available, PayPal or other until a deposit is made from that account into the bank account. At which point it clears that amount out of the receivables. The down side is that I have 66 transactions from the checking account that I have to review and categorize. Times that I used the business account to put gas in my car or buy groceries and such. Quickbooks recommends categorizing that as something like owner taking money out. That would be correct.
My best takeaway: Decide which program you want to use going forward and run it side-by-side with GoDaddy for the time we have remaining, until you are comfortable with what you and it are doing and are sure that all the transactions and categories have been captured correctly.

I used Quickbooks Pro years ago for my Service company. It was a nightmare. Invoices and payrolls, bank never reconciling. I have used GoDaddy for 2 yrs without problem. Simple and easy to understand and work with. I am trying to set up QB, pain in the .... eBAy transactions are importing but only sales, GoDaddy transactions wont import and have no idea what half of the tabs are for. Looking for alternative.

I'm so glad to hear you are making headway on the transition to GoDaddy. I'll make a note of your helpful advice.

Have you considered Wave Bookkeeping? It's free, and it's highly regarded. Most reviews online say that it's much easier to use than QuickBooks.
My only hesitation with regards to Wave is that eBay doesn't integrate with it automatically, so you'd have to upload your own eBay data in some kind of compatible file format, or use Zapier as an app to do it for you. Zapier may or may not be free, depending on how much you use it during the course of a month. There is also zero customer support for the free version of Wave, other than a chatbot and written how-to manuals posted to the site. The manuals look pretty well written and comprehensive, but I can't help but wonder what you're supposed to do if there's a technical issue or some kind of problem that you just can't figure out on your own.

I maybe spoke too soon. It just dawned on me that my wife has eBay deposit into one of her personal checking accounts - not the business account. If I don't link that account to Quickbooks then all of her sales will remain in accounts receivable. Not that it matters to me where her money for the sales go, but the question becomes does Quickbooks age the receivables and time them out as bad debts? If I do link her account then I will have to explain any other deposits and all expenses to get them off the company accounting. I simply want to claim her sales as income but none of her personal expenses. Not the best scenario. The easiest solution would be to unlink her eBay account from Quickbooks and just manually add her deposits from eBay into the accounting program, but again, if the money does not actually hit the business checking account it will go into receivables.
The more plumbing they put in the easier to stop up the drain. At this point I think I would gladly pay GoDaddy whatever they needed to remain viable just to keep it simple and functional.

Yikes, that sounds like a big hassle. Your plumbing metaphor is sadly accurate. Too many pipelines = too many possibilities for mistakes.
The way GoDaddy treats money, it considers every individual eBay sale as business income, and then when the pay-out is sent to the seller's bank account, it's treated as a non-business "transfer." This kind of logic has always made sense to me. I don't know if I could get used to QuickBooks 'way of doing things.
I would have gladly paid double the price of my GoDaddy subscription just to keep it alive.

Shouldn't Quickbooks be capable of working with multiple bank accounts? Or, in worse case, with two separate "businesses" operating independently?

Yes it is, however only one is a business account the other is a personal account. Both deposits from eBay into the separate accounts I count as business income, however the expenses from the personal account are not included in the business expenses.

Your lucky (Or maybe unlucky.) I tried signing up yesterday and migrating the data to use the "Simple Start Plan." Couldn't get it work. Came up with errors using GoDaddy's link. On the phone for an hour with QuickBooks. They couldn't figure out what was going on. Not very impressive. In limbo right now.

I have the strong feeling that they may have simply slapped together the linking and it just hasn't been very well bench tested.

You're not alone. Over on the Etsy.com seller forum, there is a person who also tried to switch to QuickBooks yesterday but could not, due to some kind of technical glitch. She actually said to people that if they're thinking of switching to QuickBooks, they might want to wait a bit, just in case they will also experience a technical difficulty.
I'm sorry you spent an hour on that, and I hope they fix the problem soon, whatever it is.
