Global Shipping program

I want to start using GSP.  Can anyone recommend what countries I should not ship to?

Also, I would only like to use GSP on certain items. Is this an option?

Also, some of my items are flat rate and some are calculated, is this an option with GSP?

Any other information you can provide to help me get started will be greatly appreciated!

I have watched the videos on GSP but would like some personal input as well! It seems easy to click on Global shipping to get started but, all the exceptions to click is the confusing part.

Depends on what you are selling. I skimmed your listings and don't see any that are especially scam worthy so I would not block any countries.

Yes!

You only need to be concerned with shipping to KY so just follow the same policy your have for Domestic shipping.

I don't use GSP so I don't know what you mean by "exceptions"

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/global-shipping-program?id...

This tells you eligible countries. It also tells you restricted categories and prohibited items. There's a package size limit.

You can choose any type of packaging and method of tracked shipping to the GSP shipping center.

Re: Global Shipping program

If it was not for the GSP I would not sell internationally. Not sure why you would only want to use the GSP for some of your listings but you can select if you want to use the GSP as you list each individual item. What countries you select to ship to is partially your preference and decision but is also dependent a bit on what you are selling and where you are shipping it to.

For the first part the GSP will inherit whatever your seller preferences are in your profile along with anything that may currently be in place by eBay policy. Right now that includes the Russian Federation and the Ukraine. As for the second part you will have to be aware of the import laws of individual countries to some extent. EBay has some filters in place that will prevent you from selling some items to certain countries. For example you cannot ship Nazi related items to most of the EU, Canada has some restrictions on martial arts weapons and Australia has some restrictions on knives.

A couple things about the GSP. First if you use it and your item sells the GSP will be the one that sends the invoice to the buyer and will include the shipping cost for both legs (from you to Kentucky and from Kentucky to the buyer) once the buyer has paid you simply ship the item to Kentucky. The GSP will handle the collection of any custom fees or VAT, complete the customs paperwork and setup the international shipping leg and update the order tracking information. They will advise you when the item is received at the GSC, when it departs and when it is received by the buyer.

The GSP will slow the delivery time a bit because of the package stopover in Kentucky but I have never had a buyer complain about any delays.

It's  also recommended if you're  selling items that cost over $50.

The Global Shipping Program has been flawless and increased my sales by 4%.

Re: Global Shipping program

Do not sell or ship 'anything' to South America.
I would also avoid sales to Italy as well.

Re: Global Shipping program

I love GSP.

Have been using it for years and never had a problem.

The only country I exempt is the Middle East. Just personal preference.

Re: Global Shipping program

I don't exempt any countries, I let GSP take care of it.  Wherever they ship is fine with me b/c all I need to do is get the item to KY.  I don't understand why you'd exempt any country, unless you are also doing non-GSP International sales, which is doable, but a big pita to set up.

When your International sales are handled by GSP you the seller isn't shipping ANYTHING to ANYWHERE except Kentucky.

FYI - The mail service to Italy is pretty much on par with the European average. There was a period, 2007 - 2009, when it was terrible but that was 15 years ago and things change.

I do agree that most of South America has extremely slow service, so extreme that I no longer ship there directly. Chile had been one of the few exceptions.....until Covid.

Re: Global Shipping program

Even before the sanctions took effect I would not sell to Russia or the FSU and I also will not sell to China. Like you China is a personal preference but they are the counterfeit capital of the world and their government supports it.

Re: Global Shipping program

Is there any specific boxes I need to check when getting started with GSP? I checked the enroll box

I only want to ship GSP not other international shipping, I don't check the "Customize international shipping for some locations" do I?

I checked the override Global shipping box.

Anymore that I need to be aware of?

Re: Global Shipping program

I sell to any country. Green is green as far as I'm concerned. I have shipped to every part of the world and have only had one issue with one "I Don't recognize transaction" claim which I won with tracking. I don't use GSP since I prefer to ship directly using Pirateship.
