I just replied to a return message from a seller and at bottom of page it gave me the option of sellers phone number. When did this start ? Personally I do not want to take calls from buyers.

Go into Account Settings>Manage Communication with Buyers>what buyers can do ---then edit-->share your phone number >change to no.

I think it is because of the new law passed by congress requiring online market places to make sure buyers are informed on who they buying from.
Law was passed to combat stolen and counterfeit items being sold on online market places by bad acting sellers. Something needs to done to reduce the amount of stolen goods being sold on eBay.

New federal law requires sellers selling more than $5,000.00 per year be provided with your phone number and address so they know where to find you.
This is to fight the selling of stolen and counterfeit items.

How often are you getting calls from buyers? I sell thousands of items on eBay and have not received a call from a buyer since the law was put into effect last July.
I don’t know why getting calls from buyers would be an issue?

Let me correct you: "This is to fight the selling of stolen and counterfeit items NOT FROM CHINA."

Although this is a few month old thread, it's interesting that I have never seen this before until YESTERDAY, 8/4/24! I saw it on the bottom of one of my ASQ's too. Was really surprised to see this was an older thread, as yesterday was the first time I saw this & I get & send ASQ's all the time.
