Getting started on eBay

Hello everyone,

My name is Sasha from EVAtech Ukraine. We make car mats from EVA and made our first listings on eBay about a month ago. However, things have been very slow. We are getting very few impressions, only had two clicks, and hence zero sales. Promoted listings advanced has generated 0 impressions, and I am at a loss on what to do next. Tried relisting, and adding something new more often (but now I can not as I have reached a limit in items)

I know that our product is really good, the price for such product is reasonable as well, so it should sell. It is about getting impressions, the quality of listings, price, and delivery terms.

So my questions are: how long has it taken you to get a decent amount of impressions/first sales?

What is the key to being successful on eBay, when you are sure the product is awesome?

Can you look at my listings and give a critique, please?

Thank you, everyone, who is kind to help and answer my questions.

Sasha

Happy you are out of harms way.  Like I stated earlier, this was the info provided to us on this forum back in February.  There have been many Ukraine posts concerning as to why they couldn't sell.  There was one here yesterday that I posted in the link I provided for you.

As far as customer service (support team), unfortunately they are not a reliable source because they don't work for ebay.  They are subcontracted and most times very unhelpful and untruthful.  Sad.

In answer to your question, many sellers world wide are not getting sales either.  Some for months.  The state of the economy is a big factor and people are using their funds for essentials and priorities.   So it's not just you, it's everywhere and on many e commerce platforms.

Just hang in there like the rest of us and hopefully the tides will turn.  I wish you good luck with your sales in the future again, so glad you are out of harms way.

Aloha

Did you know that Ebay temporally suspended sales for the Ukraine and Russia a few months back? I am surprised you were allowed to list any of your items.  I have not heard if the suspension has been lifted, others here may know more.   It may be why you're are not getting any views or sales.

Here's another link concerning:

Hope you are safe and out of harms way.

Thank you for your reply and safety concerns. Our national posting service (Ukrposhta) is in collaboration with eBay and so has advertised eBay as one of the options to use to sell in these times. Therefore I make the conclusion that sales from Ukraine have not been suspended by eBay. In addition, I have several times spoken to the support team, who have not mentioned anything about the suspension.

So I believe my question stands.

Re: Getting started on eBay

How about allowing shipping to Australia, United Kingdom and Virgin Islands (U.S.) at the moment these locations are excluded in your shipping. It could open the door to more international buyers. Ireland might also be alright. You should have an ebay shop subscription. For some categories you need to promote your items with promoted listing standard not advanced. Just use standard ad rate. Otherwise your listings look fine. I hope all is well in Kyiv. Its taken me 18 years on ebay to build a big enough following for regular repeat buyers and daily sales.

I was under the impression that eBay had suspended sales to Ukraine, but had not seen anything from eBay about suspending sales from Ukraine

It seems to be a hit or miss topic here.   Some can sell, some can't...go figure.

@duncanvr

Thank you for your suggestion and the time used to answer my query. These countries are excluded due to the specification of our product. We make specific fit car mats. These countries are right-hand-drive countries, and we do not have templates for cars from these countries, unfortunately.

Thank you, I will take up the suggestion to subscribe to an eBay shop.

Hopefully, this war will be over soon, and new ones do not start, so we can all live life to the fullest... and successfully sell on eBay) 🙂

Thank you. I understand the worldwide economic factor. Thank you for pointing it out, especially the fact that it touched so many people. I wish you the best of luck too. Hopefully, the tide will turn sooner rather than later, but in any case, let's be ready for everything.

Re: Getting started on eBay

Kinda sounds like an eBay mantra: "Some Can, Some Can't".

The motorist would have to clean out the dirt from 150 diamond or honeycomb shape indentations per mat. Take a look at the easy clean design other sellers offer and redesign your product.

Re: Getting started on eBay

HI!

When I scrolled your listings I thought "Wow they only have black ones".  Then I clicked one & there are different colors.  Some people might not like 1 color to pick from & look somewhere else without clicking one. Do you have enough room in your title to include various colors? If so that might help a little.

     GOOD LUCK😊

Re: Getting started on eBay

I see you got a store subscription and created the banner. Next create a store discount coupon code 15 or 20% off also run a strike through discount sale around 15% off every week. Don't worry your buyers only can chose one form of discount. Do not use promoted listing advanced use promoted listing standard only. For some reason I now only see 6 results. If you have these products in other colours do use some in the main images showing various colours. It could help.
