Ebay already screwed me over once early on when I created an account and started selling. They took down two of my listings with bids and I had to call and wait for half an hour for someone to tell me that because I'm new, they had to verify information. They couldn't verify that before they allowed me to post? WTH! Now they screwed me over again by making me wait for a month before I get my payments because I'm a new seller? **bleep**?! These people are idiots. If I had known all of this **bleep**, I would have sold on another platform.

All new, occasional, and returning sellers have a Hold on their cleared payments until they have met requirements for customer service.
Held payments can however be used to buy shipping labels. (Actually that's a rough and ready way to confirm you actually have been paid.)
You also have to have a checking account in a bank in your own country in order to set up a Managed Payments account for payment processing. This can take a loooooong time. Even for an long term seller like me (I've been around since 1998 ) one of my accounts took over two months to establish and another abruptly stopped working and had to be reset.
My only hope is that the difficulty in setting up new accounts means that in future it will be more difficult for scammers set up burner accounts or to hijack existing but abandoned accounts.

BTW- cameras and camera equipment is a high fraud category online (not just on eBay).
Personally I would not sell anything that expensive until I had 10 DSRs, knew what DSRs are, and understand their utter unimportance.

Until you've been selling for 90 days and sold 25 items your payments will be held until tracking shows delivered, or in 21 days if there's no tracking. They can hold the payment for the full 21 days if you're selling in a high risk category.

It is a normal rule and one that Ebay has had for many years. It is a good rule too. It helps to prevent those sellers that would come here, make a bunch of sales. Not ship a thing, build up the cash and then suddenly the cash is gone and they disappear. Leaving Ebay to hold the bag. That use to happen a lot in the early years of Ebay. This rule helps to prevent this stuff and other security issues as well.
FYI, it is 21 days not 30, so that is 9 days quicker than can mean a great deal. And sometimes you can get your money released earlier than that by calling Ebay if you have all the requirements meant for that transaction.

Welcome to being a new seller on eBay. I am not sure what listing eBay pulled while they checked your information but it may have been to your benefit. As a new seller you are a prime target for every scammer out there especially if you are listing high demand expensive items. The Panasonic lens you currently have posted may fall into that category. You may want to take a quick look at the account profiles of the current bidders to see if you are potentially walking into a scam. You also have a no return policy on that item. Understand that no returns does NOT translate to no refunds. You may want to take a look at the eBay MBG and fully understand the implications.
As far as other platforms a lot of sellers are diversified across multiple ecommerce or other selling venues for a variety of reasons. EBay, largely because of risk, is not well suited for selling everything. I wish you the best if you continue to sell here but as dhbookds advised patience is a virtue when it comes to selling on eBay.

That means also looking at Feedback Left for Others. Some scammers are dumb enough to gloat. Some will post FB that indicates there was a 'problem'. (Thank you for working with me , for example. If that or some equivalent shows up more than once, you have a problem customer.)

Some new sellers simply have a misinformed opinion of Ebay. Some feel they can just jump on the site, without doing any homework or effort to learn about the policies and procedures and simply do what they want. Nothing could be further from the truth.
This is not a free for all. There are rules and regulations. There is a learning curve. Just as in ANY new JOB. And make no mistake, this is a JOB. There are things you need to learn before being allowed to just list all kinds of things. It is a good structure to help keep scammers off the site as well as helping new sellers succeed for the long run.
If you are just here for the short run, then it just may not be the place for you.
