Getting our Payout

Is anyone else really upset about how long it takes for ebay to do our "Payout"?  They do their "processing" and it takes a much longer time than before when our money went to paypal.

This is a well travelled road that's a waste of time. Paypal is gone. Guess they got tired of providing loans to eBay sellers. You are now in the real world of "that's how long it takes to process money" through the banking system.

No. If I couldn't wait a few days to get my money, then my business is obviously a failure.

Getting our Payout

I am set for daily payouts and receive them weekly not daily. They are pending funds for couple of days then send notification of transfer on Fridays (when banks close) and they really send money to bank on Monday and I would receive it Tuesday. My bank processes money in 1 day for me. So i get paid long after my buyer receives item. I ship same /next day.

Nope.  It gets to me on a regular schedule, every week right on time. Daily if I wanted it but don't have the inclination, weekly makes more sense.   My neighbor who sells his crap in booths at group shops gets his once a month.

How often do other platforms pay out? Does any of them pay out faster?

Greetings,

It's industry standard for ACH transfers.  PayPal gave you access to funds via their website and/or debit card but if you decided to transfer your funds to your bank it was two-three business days.  If you initiated a PayPal transfer to your bank on Thursday it'd appear Monday or more often on Tuesday.

It can also take time for your bank to post funds.  I recommend Keybank to people because they allow access to ACH funds faster than any others I am aware of even though they've not fully posted said funds to an account.

I can't say I'm upset with the new system eBay has in place, I like it better than PayPal actually.  My "Beef" with it would be in vendor protections as PayPal allowed for direct dispute moderation.

No, waiting a couple days is no big deal.

My funds are in my checking account every Wednesday.

Have a great day.

Not really, no. I ship using the Shipping form's option to buy the label using the buyer's pending funds before they have been transferred to my account, so the Shipping is covered by the buyer's payment, and thus it's not critical to me exactly when the rest of the money shows up in my checking account (which, for the record, is the next business day after I get the notification from eBay that the funds have been released).

Since I have my payout set for weekly, NOPE not a concern....

I miss the convenience of instant PayPal money but, in reality - No. In fact, I also miss my 100% sell-through rate of 20 years ago, the health of the auction format, the original Discussion Boards, Turbo Lister, a readily available customer service phone number….

Welcome to 2021, the real world, and money processing on a level with brick and mortar stores.

And, honestly - if you can’t wait a few days to get paid then your business model isn’t working.

P.S. You DO know you’re supposed to have been reporting income and filing taxes all along - right?

I had a payout scheduled for today(Friday) for some accumulated funds. Woke up this morning and new date showing is tomorrow(Saturday). I've had them mysteriously transfer on Sunday's a few times but never on a Saturday (Canada). Yet if there are fees they are able to be pulled the second the charge shows. If you check specific transaction details there is no physical date attached to either pending or when it was processed. Only shows is that it "was" completed.

So there is your answer.  No one is worried about the timing of MP payouts.  This comes under the heading of don't sweat the small stuff or don't try to control what isn't or ever was going to be in your control.

Thank you for your reply.  My business model is to list, sell and get paid in a manner in which I don't need to wait this long.  I sold an item on the 15th of Dec. and won't see the money in my bank until next Tuesday, the 21st.  Unfortunaltely, my budget must be tighter than yours.  I remember getting the money in Paypal, transferring it to my bank within no more than 2 minudtes, not 7 days!  Best wishes to ya'
