I sold a pair of speakers to a guy in South Korea for a lot of money. I shipped them from Pennsylvania to Delaware, he used a freight forwarding company in DE. I charged him $250 (they were extremely large and heavy), and I paid a total of $360 to ship them. I spent the extra money out of my pocket to have UPS package them safely and they did. Clearly they made it to the freight forwarding company unharmed because they then sent them to South Korea. The guy ends up complaining that they were damaged to me, I ask him if he opted for insurance with the freight forwarding company. He ignores that message and leaves me bad feedback.
I call eBay on Oct. 3rd and the gentleman I spoke to agreed with me that the feedback should be removed because I did what I was supposed to do and what happens after they are delivered is not my responsibility. He told me to hang on and I will hear something in 48 - 72 hours. That was 14 days ago. I called back about 5-6 days ago and spoke to a woman who again agreed with me and said she will take care of it and I will hear something in 48 - 72 hours.
I am a top rated seller, I handle virtually everything by myself and rarely ask eBay anything, I make eBay a lot of money (I have sold over $25,000 in the past week alone), I but a lot of stuff on eBay, I am exactly what a company like eBay would want to have as a user. Why are they treating me like this? Are they trying to get me to move my business (vinyl records primarily) to another site? If someone from eBay is reading this, please let me know what is going on?

Sellers are not responsible for freight forward company shipments (third party involvement)
doesn't matter, UPS won't refund because the items delivered to the ship forwarder without damage, they won't honor insurance after that. True sellers aren't responsible once item reaches ship forwarder yet ebay did just recently update their policy on this, and not sure if it's the same as always was.
hey nuclear, do you happen to have the link for this updated freight forwarder info or where you read this info?
thnx!

@coolections wrote:$360 to ship a pair of sneakers. Wow... they could not have been that heavy. I would have cancelled and/or never paid you as a buyer.
speakers, not sneakers LOL

Your OP and subsequent additional information is noted.
Noted that buyer has not opened a case of any description.
Noted that buyer has left inappropriate feedback.
Noted that eBay on more than one occasion have stated this feedback shouldf/ would be removed and to date this has not happened.
In my experiencer eBay have always fulfilled their promise of removal and in this case it may be that order was placed on another eBay site and not on .com and at some stage this should come through.
If this feedback is causing you extreme anxiety then in the meanwhile you can respond on the feedback itself in a very polite manner with something like" Sorry to learn that your freight forwarder damaged the item during repacking and shipment to South Korea".
Every buyer who reads the feedback has all information and your credibility remains intact.
I have always found South Koreans to be fair minded people and it may be worth pointing out to buyer that you accept his statement that item reached him damaged and that this damage occurred when item was with his freight forwarder and as such he should leave appropriate feedback on his freight forwarder's platform and if he would kindly consider removing or amending his feedback for you.
Hope all concludes to your complete satisfaction.

Feedback: Everything came broken One speaker woofer is broken and cannot be used very dissatisfied
Suggested reply: I paid $110 of my own money to have the Item professionally packaged by the UPS store. Item was shipped to Delaware. Buyer had a freight forwarder ship it to him in South Korea. Damage most likely caused by freight forwarder on the way to South Korea. Buyer instructed to file a claim with his freight forwarder.

It was an auction, so I couldn't vet the buyer beforehand.
The buyer only messaged me. He didn't file anything with eBay presumably because he knows since he used a freight forwarding co. he is in the wrong.
Shipping was so high because they were two 65lb. speakers.
I paid the extra $110 to ensure they arrived safely.
I don't expect UPS to pay for the insurance I paid for, they didn't do anything wrong (the freight forwarding company messed up).
That is actually one of the only times you can vet a buyer before hand. Check them out when they bid

I had a similar experience with something damaged on arrival that was shipped to Russia via Freight Forwarding. Nothing as heavy as the speakers. I think Customer Service in Ebay is Swamped - and has a skeleton crew on the phones to help you. I also handle things myself, very rarely contact Ebay. I was told by a fellow ebayer that you are not responsible for the condition of the item, if the buyer used Freight Forwarding Service - on the delivery to Delaware. I would just keep calling or contacting Ebay so this gets taken care of. I never ship any electronics or heavy items internationally - too many things can happen now. But I hope you make out OK.

Here is the info you need. The buyer does not have coverage when item is forwarded.

I read sneakers too and wonder how shoes could be so heavy they cost $360 to ship.
