Getting Buyer Follow-up Removed

So a buyer messaged me asking me to send them an offer since ethey couldn't (red flag that I usually pay atttention to). I sent the offer and a few minutes later the buyer messages me with some **bleep** saying that their money is in another bank account or something and the holiday is coming up so they can't pay yet and don't know when their payment will be made (blah, blah, blah) and could I wait (with no specified time period that I would be getting paid).

I then checked Buyer Requirements Activity Log and see a buyer that matches their feedback amount that tried to send an offer on that same item but was blocked because of too many unpaid item strikes. I see what's going on and I didn't wanna play games with this buyer so I told them I didn't want to wait some unspecified amount of time to see when (if) they could pay so I declined and the buyer got angry. I then cancelled the order and relisted the item exacly how it was (same price; this can be checked). I knew fully well what the consequences of this could be but I'm just sick of bad buyers giving me the run-around and me having to wait forever due to eBay's policies to relist items that were never going to be paid for (happens way too often).

The buyer then leaves me negative feedback, which I expected, and I couldn't get it removed (which I also expected). However, after replying to the feedback to tell my side of the story, the buyer then replies, continuing to accuse me of lying about multiple things and calling me bigot for no reason. I think this is completely unacceptable and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to get that baseless comment removed and if so, then how would I go about doing that? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Re: Getting Buyer Follow-up Removed

So, first, they were messaging you about the order and payment.

Then you say you cancelled the order.  Was it actually an order or a message?

Give this some thought:  With a start like that about payment, you could have just immediately blocked the buyer.  And what reason did you give for the cancellation?

How do bad buyers give you the runaround and why do you "have to wait forever"?

You sell an item.  You wait 96 hours for payment.  Buyer does not pay.  You cancel, citing "buyer did not pay".

You are refunded your FVF within days.  How does that translate into "forever due to eBay's policies"?

Yes, it would be well worth it for you to contact eBay and attempt to get that removed.

Re: Getting Buyer Follow-up Removed

1. As I said, they first messaged me asking for an offer. After sending the offer and them accepting, they messaged saying they couldn't pay yet.

2. Like I also said, I'm usually very vigilant about buyers but I moved too quickly with this one and now I'm paying for it.  I also selected that the buyer requested the cancellation, because they said they couldn't pay yet and didn't know when they would be able to. I blocked the buyer after their angry response.

3. Buyers send offers and then have crazy excuses to not pay, or disappear when I contact them about payment. I would consider that giving me the runaround. Yes I am also aware of eBay's policies. 4 days to have an item sitting around without payment, all the while losing the watchers I may have had on said item is definitely a long enough time in my eyes, so there's your translation, but to each their own.

4. Indeed

I thought you could only leave feedback if you PAID for the item??

@moretreasures4you

If a seller cancels due to non-payment, the buyer can't leave feedback.
