Garage sales; I'm fired up!

Several community wide sales in my area tomorrow. Looking forward to finding some good stuff. The lilacs are blooming, and orioles are chomping on oranges. Will probably put on 200 miles tomorrow. Love meeting the sellers and their dogs and searching for treasures.

Good luck to you all; hope I get there before you!!

Best of luck! We've got rain in the forecast pretty much all day, so probably going to stay home and list thrift store finds from earlier this week. Saturday looks more promising for yard sales, so hopefully will be out and about then. And I agree with you....I always enjoy chatting with the sellers (and other buyers) and if they have friendly dogs, so much the better. Met a miniature poodle last week , friendliest little guy, I would have been happy to bring him home!

Don't forget to pack water and sandwiches, and maybe a few treats for the dogs!

Yard sales here just have junk or large, heavy objects - everything else goes online, but the curb surfing can be good. I go out with my bike and trailer.

Found this along the side of the road - I was out running and didn't have my bike and trailer, but I didn't want to let it go in case someone else grabbed it and I had been really wanting one. I lugged that danged thing home about a mile - it weighs 25-30 lb and has all of these pokey things like pedals and feet that jabbed into me as I went along at a slow jog. Now I can pedal while I read my trashy novels.

Rain in our forecast for the whole weekend but there are a number of online auction house sales going on, a few estate sales and at least one large indoor flea market taking place.

Sounds exciting and I am sure it beats fighting off the obnoxious people at Goodwill when they bring the new stuff out.  Friends have seen people literally fighting over stuff and one couple they saw are big time YouTubers who sell on eBay, real polite and pleasant on camera but really rude and vicious in person ...

Best of luck. Those are fun trips. Our daughter is getting married this weekend, so we are taking a break and enjoying family & friends. Getting to spend Sunday with Mom. Beautiful weather here, so we're going to enjoy it.

we'll hit the sales next time.

Have a great Mother's day weekend everyone.

If your near my neighborhood, I am having a two day yard sale. Wide range of items. I also have two golden retrievers who love treats and playing fetch. Feel free to stop by anytime between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Sat. or Sunday. Prices are negotiable.

😁😁😁

At my local Goodwill they used to notify employees over the intercom that Z-racks and shiny carts (and now many) were due to be brought out. So I would start discreetly hanging around the door to the back, and when the Z-racks came out would pad along next to them just looking the stuff over - I didn't touch anything. I have a feeling not everyone who did that was as polite, particularly if there were electronics being brought out on the shiny carts, so they stopped announcing it.

At the bins, large, personable employees (of either sex) escort those out being obnoxious around the carts when they're brought out ("Stay behind the yellow lines!"). I appreciate their enforcing their own rules, from what I hear not all bins do that and there gets to be a scrum.

People get nuts.

All my travels and effort did not amount to much at all.

I did find a WWI gas mask with carry bag that may save the day. Paid $2.

I never hunt at Goodwill anymore; big waste of time in my area.

Was a big letdown. I don't aim to fill up the car anymore. I look to go beyond the ordinary, aiming for more "eBay worthy" items. Picked up some ordinary stuff just because you gotta buy something!

One item may have saved the day: a WWI gas mask with carry bag, instruction booklet and "ani-dimming stick" cannister.
