I understand under "SEO" (Search Engine Optimization) why it was done. I don't understand until the model is proven to work (Tested) and infact increase sales for sellers as eBay claims it should why force it ? Its only been a day but I have seen a major slump and page views on items barely any sales that is going to take a major hit to sellers and eBay as well. As well as items I have tested on a GTC for the last couple of weeks until this forceful change.
I believe certain categories need to be brought back to lower days. Such as consumer electronics for example. You have an Iphone I use to list them for one day on eBay (Buy it Now) not auction and it would sell. 30 Days and a million pages back items like that will not be found and sit on the site until found thus taking a heck of a lot longer to sell for us sellers who rely on daily sales activity. Certain categories that have a tremendous amount of volume should be re-evaluated properly.
Also I have a gripe with Good To Cancel as sellers who have a lot of inventory would rely on an ended listing to re-evaluate and do a price reduction and change and re-list which tends to increase a possible sale. Much harder to keep a handle on a lot of items that are listed that probably need a price reduction. I had no problem paying the re-list fee's every 10 days if needed if at the end of the day my sales were increased.
I am very concerned about this new change.....Isn't there bigger Fish to fry to assist sellers with buyers, fraud, feedback extortion, returns of items not packed properly by buyers that get damaged in return shipping ? Allowing sellers to at least leave a neutral comment on a buyer if you had not a positive selling experience ? why do only buyers have the say on a buying experience ? why can't a seller have a say in there selling experience with a buyer ? for Non Payment ? Late Payment ? Etc ? So other sellers can view a buyers feedback and you as the seller have the right to wanting to deal with that buyer in the first place ? if they are a frequent problem ?
I hope at the end of the day this is a positive benefit for all us sellers this change I just don't see it yet !! I hope we the sellers are not the Ginny pigs on this matter and at the end of the day take the hit on this change that will impact all our sales negatively. I do this as a full time 24/7 business not a hobby !!

They've already "fixed" those things, like only Ebay can. All those things were once working, until Ebay "Fixed" them.
Thats Ebay in a nutshell. If something is good and working like it should, Ebay will surely mess it up

They've been using it for some time on new/small sellers.......plus they've stated 80% of f/p is Gtc. Of course no seller who swears by their method is going to believe anything they say.....
As far as they rest........what is more important than attracting, keeping buyers? What site allows their sellers to publicly call out or refuse to sell to buyers?

If there is a buyer that is constant problem with buying issues and if it was posted on their feedback then as a seller I would determine if I were to accept or not accept there offer ? Obviously if they were buying an item out right then I would have no control. But it would be nice to see other sellers comments about issues from the past on a buyer. I agree it would never happen but it would be nice if we had a fair say in a transaction. But I get why they changed it years ago because buyers would get destroyed by sellers and never want to come back and shop, So I get it but there needs to be some improvement on all the scams and extortion.

Hi--
I really "don't understand" why this is being done. I don't have a lot of products, they are low priced and I don't mind if I am charged every 10, 7, or 5 days (depends on the product.) Also, won't this risk or wipe out the benefit of the extra "no-charge for listings" that eBay sometimes gives as a nice perk? Those bonus perks are only for a few limited days. Depending on the cycle of items you're running, you can miss out.

Maybe, I'm not thinking clear today (very little sleep last night) but I really don't get it. Can someone explain how this will/should benefit me- as well as the rationale behind this new rule.

Thanks so much.

I think all us sellers are trying to figure this out and scratch our heads about this. As a seller we are given lately daily very little say on our own products on the eBay platform our voices and say seem to be landing on deaf ears ?. We cannot see the real picture yet hope it works but I sense its going to cause more problems then help us sellers cause a lot of our sales to suffer which I have already have been experiencing monitoring items on page views and looks and impressions is definitely down from what I usually see. I can say last day or two I am down big time to very little to no activity like someone pulled the rug from under my feet. My sales basically have come to stand still. Have not put my finger on it if it is this change or just the middle of week activity slump ? Stay tuned. You may have to re-evaluate what you are listing if its even worth selling or not ?
