GTC just started

For me it started just a few minutes ago.

"To help sell my item"

Terrible idea, policy, etc.

What does one do if after 1 month instead a fixed price listing they wanted to use an auction listing for an item?

I agree. It just started for mine also.

Horrible idea and ebay doesn't seem to care. They closed the discussion board about this when they first announced.

I'm listing my remaining items for bidding, and after they are done moving them to a new selling site as ebay no longer offers what I'm looking for, and doesn't care to listen to it's sellers.

Only things that I can suggest...

1) Call up ebay customer service if you don't like this change to "good 'til sold" only and let ebay know personally

2) Move your items to another selling website. Eventually ebay will be forced to listen once their sales go down.

I also had a banner that said "we are making this change to help you sell". As I sell the vast majority of my items in "Buy it now", and the automatic relist will cost me more money, this is not helping to sell my items.

Shame on you ebay. You're going to lose sellers, and you just seem to not care.

This GTC nightmare has started for me also.

This is going to put a lot of extra work time in watching ending times so I can click on the end listing button.  I don't want everyone on my listings auto renewed.

My biggest laugh was when eBay said sell items at auction and add a buy it now price.

Haha...yes. Ebay keeps attempting to give rationale as to why they got rid of the 30 day buy it now option, but none of it makes any sense other than they are hoping they get more money from sellers paying additional listing fees, signing up for larger stores and from automatically-relisted items.

I've been on ebay for many years, and have rolled with all of the changes and additional challenges that they've rolled out for sellers, but this goes too far. I heard the explanation reply from the ebay execs on the original feed about this change, and none of it made any sense. I had hoped that ebay would listen to the outcry of it's sellers regarding this, but they seem to not care.

I'm currently in the process of listing all of my items in the auction format. When the auctions end, they will be moved to another sales site. I'm not in the business of rewarding ebay for making this horrible change by giving them more money. I strive very hard to provide my customers on ebay with excellent customer service, but ebay is not doing the same for us sellers...and they don't care.

I am having a big problem with this new GTC policy.  Mine just started a few  minutes ago too and I was just getting ready to do a bunch of relists.  Now I don't know that I will relist anything on ebay.

I am a small seller that doesn't go above my 50 allotted free listing per month and all my items are fixed price, that is unless I get a promotional offer.  There are times when I get an additional 100 or 200 "free" listings in a promotional offer.  I never use all these but all of a sudden I can have 75 or 80 listings out there.   Now these will be tagged GTC?!  If I forget about these and don't get them off there after the first 30 days, well all of a sudden I will be getting listing fees for those extra items listed that were "free" during the promo period.

This is just a sneaky way for ebay to take advantage of their small sellers, those that don't have stores.   Many small sellers are going to get caught in this same trap I almost did.  Ebay really needs to rethink this policy, as it is going to drive many small sellers away.  Then again maybe that is their goal, maybe they only want people who have stores to stay with them.

I liked ebay until now.  Now I need to rethink whether to continue with ebay or look for another marketplace, there has to be some others out there worthwhile.

I did some BIN's yesterday (Sunday). Must have just got in under the wire! Now I must re-think my whole selling strategy on Buy-It-Nows. I guess E-Bay didn't give a **bleep** about all the Sellers (oh yes, they are E-Bay's customers) that didn't like the idea.

The word **bleep** gets bleeped?

Just started for me as well. I was about to list a bunch of items, but now I can't afford to as I'm over 50 items now and can not risk the consequences of missing the 29 day deadline to cancel. I'm a very small time seller with one-off items. GTC will do nothing for me but keep me from listing new items until others are sold. Brilliant!

This is going too far Ebay!  After almost ten years of selling here I plan on moving on to another site.  Congratulations on a horrible move.

Hate this! Just started for me too. I'm just putting the end date at the end of my title. Such as vintage lamp 4-17. I have to make it as easy as possible for myself. Unfortunately I will be canceling items a few hours before they end and may lose some bidders.

I got a bunch listed but got caught tonight by GTC.

Checking here to see if others got it!

We knew it was coming but makes us sad.

We were wondering too how to mark date we need to end.

In title, or maybe under brief description?

Maybe just save a few letters and put Ends 4/16 in title?

we are going to try to stay on top of canceling at day 29.

The first time they catch us & we get a bill....we are gone.

Cant afford another penny in fees.

Those of you that want to mark your listings somehow try the custom label field. only you can see it and its sortable. saving your title space for search words.

eBay have an Army of their own to feed. It is understandable that the sellers are obliged to feed them. The additional fees, the hidden fees and most amazing are "fees on shipping".  Bravo eBay! Keep it  up

My wife list every item as auction for 5 days and starts bidding at  $9.99 whatever sells for it sells for. I list my items at buy it now usually for 3 days then sometimes 5 days. we sell jewelry so her items always sells, usually for more than what we pay.  I sell more gold so buy it now three days usually all I need for my item to sell. my more expensive items may take more than week or two to sell sometimes as trying to get maxim price. I like to relist over and over every three or five days to update my text as gold price keeps changing and to attract newly listed buyers. guess I can just end my item  after three to five days same anyway but I don't need good till canceled
