For me it started just a few minutes ago.
"To help sell my item"
Terrible idea, policy, etc.
What does one do if after 1 month instead a fixed price listing they wanted to use an auction listing for an item?

I just tried to list a few items and noticed it being forced onto my listings. I'll definitely be scaling back on my sales if this is what they are trying to pull, as it does nothing to help us and is only put into effect with the hopes that people aren't paying attention and they get slapped with listing fees every month.
Hopefully many follow suit, along with posting here, so that eBay notices and changes this dumb policy (I haven't been able to find a way to send feedback outside of calling, which pretty much always leads to a Philippine phone bank where none of that information will get back to those who matter on this issue)
They already raised the final value fee from 10% to 12% (along with the 4-5% they take off the top on the PayPal end) so to try to hit sellers twice is a very scummy move. Add that with rising shipping fees from USPS (and with eBay again making sure to take their cut there) and I'm noticing that many times it's just not worth it to put up items here.

I am really disgusted with this move ...........I plan on shutting down my store which luckily comes up next month for renewal ..............GREEDY .....................no sense to it ..............I do NOT want my listings to be renewed automatically ................that is MY JOB to decide ...............another site will get my business .................

The only workaround to avoid an automatic GTC relisting is to relist it using the GTC option and then end the item early which is what I will be doing. Wait until the 30th day and then end it. It will not be automatically renewed. It is a hassle to do this, but I learned after selling on ebay for 20+ years that ALL of ebay's new policies create hassles for sellers.

It has always been that way

Me also, and got stuck. So much for giving us a heads up on the date.
Can't wait to get away from eBay. I refuse to buy anything!!!

HORRIBLE IDEA!!! This was the last straw. Shutting down and moving to another platform. I don't like GTC, never used it, won't start now.

Hope they have a lot of help on board when the glitches start with all the "end listing" start coming in. Lots of sellers will the using that function, I will be one of them!

Just wondering how the 50 free listings factor into the new 30 day auto relist function?
If I stay at or under the 50 free listings will the good till cancelled auto relist function use the 50 free or charge me for 50?
i.e. Are the free listings renewed every calendar month, every thirty days or on an eBay whim??
Will I have to cancel all auctions on 29 day in order to get the monthly 50 free listings.
I'm confused~)

The way I understand it and if I'm wrong someone please chime in.
Everything you relist or new listings as of today will be under the new GTC duration.
So the way I see it is I sell one I can add relist or sell new item to keep my numbers in order.
The numbers of your 50 will restart each month with my same theory in mind.

Thank you. Custom label to mark date I need to cancel by?
Where is that??

Problem is let's say you have a 31 day month and your listing expires on the 1st....it then automatically renews. Then it expires on the 31st and unless you have ended it early it will once again renew and for many sellers this will result in their being charged a listing fee.
This is eBay's idea of increasing revenue....their business plan.....how much additional money can we take from our selling base? Works in the short term but long term they are of course destroying the business.
