A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THE BOARDS ALSO SAYING THEY INTEND TO CUT DOWN THE NUMBER OF LISTINGS OR STOP ALTOGETHER. EBAY HASN'T JUST SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT -- THEY'VE STOOD ON A LAND MINE!

Ebay was thinking that they would make extra money from sellers that dont remove slow/none selling inventory and when Ebay likely switches to CPC "cost Per click" they will real make some really insane money from these same sellers. So now theyve hugely expanded sellers ability to list a ton more listings without paying for the larger subscription plans, there is a plan here involving the very unpredictable click count so when you sell a weak item thats been rotting on the platform for 2 1/2 years you will pay a ton for all the clicks over that time in a mysterious final value fee. Sales numbers are also way off due to all the new tax collection starting about a year ago in the US and Australia and last fall in the EU. When looking at the Sales reports its very off kilter due to the increase in taxes collected. If your gross sales are the same in the report over last year your actually losing money as will be seen probably but only after the fact when net is calculated on Schedule C of a 1040 tax return. I wont even bring up Promoted Listings, its a lose-lose-lose for Consumer and Seller and the platform!

GTC is still as stupid and idea now as it was when it forced on us.  It didn't make managing my sales easier, in fact it added a complicating factor.

But the point is you, and many others eventually adapted. And ebay did not go out of business. In fact, it has grown since then. And that's what some of us are trying to explain: Sellers confronted with a change---GTC, Seller Hub, Managed Payments, whatever....can adapt to the change and continue selling here or they can leave. It's a seller's choice. While it might be emotionally satisfyingly to come here and complain and call for boycotts and so forth, that is ultimately unproductive. People could save themselves a lot of time and effort by skipping that step and simply going to the "adapt or move on" step.

Cost per click and whatever Etsy is doing now to their sellers with mandatory ad fees is yet another UNSUCCESSFUL way to lose money. People buy on here using keyword internal search. AD industry is failing on the internet.It has been since early 2000.

Etsy probably using the AD pitch becuase they are falling behind in sales in comparison to Ebay etc. It’s a money grab.

Sales reports (from MP) do NOT include Taxes Ebay Collects from the 'Gross Sale' column; only the Item + Shipping.

As far as Promoted Listings, they are fantastic. Use 1% and YOUR items will show in your competitors Listings as well as YOUR items will show in YOUR listings. Win/Win.

Everything is horrible.

To add insult to injury each week my CU sends me an email for the deposits from MP, and shows the increasing $ amount there in. It's just horrible. I can't stand what is happening. I may have to just drop all listings except for 1, or 2 in protest to the changes. I can not adapt. I refuse to adapt. It must be made illegal for eBay to make changes to their site without consulting me.

Hopefully my comments on GTC were tempered yet it did cost me a couple hundred dollars over the months after I downsized my store because I tried to manage rimming 1800 listings down to 300 while I was still working full time.   

Now GTC has no effect since I get the 10,000 extra listings each month in collectibles with my store subscription under Managed Payments.

On Etsy, it's not mandatory, you can opt out  of the off site ads.
