Make sure that you have completed your Account profile.

You must have valid shipping and return addresses set up

You must have a valid phone number

You must have a valid payment method on file to pay your fees.

Your PayPal account must be set up to receive payments and linked to your eBay Account.

If your limit is 0 items and 0 dollars after you have set up your account, then contact eBay. Use the "Call Us" link at the bottom of the seller limits page that I linked below.

From outside of the U.S.,,you can use social media to contact eBay

Facebook.com ebay

Twitter.com/askebay

Use Private Messaging on the social sites. Do not post any personal information on the public page.

If you have an actual limit, you must prove to eBay that you can fulfil your obligations as,a seller before they will raise your limits. You cannot ask for an increase before 90 days.

As a new seller, I suggest that you familiarize yourself with the policies and procedures for selling. Start reading here:

https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/index.html

Also ... familiarize yourself with the MBG:

This seems like it's becoming my new mantra, but here goes:

I strongly recommend that instead of posting on the "Buying & Selling" area of the discussion boards, you head on over to the "New to eBay" boards like:

Or try the "Knowledge Base" area and check out the "New to eBay" boards in that section:

Do not start out with high scam items like phones and expensive jewelry. In fact, be aware that many long time sellers won't sell these items on eBay because they are scam magnets.  Do not reply to anyone asking for your email address because if you comply shortly thereafter you'll receive an official looking email purporting to be from PayPal telling you to ship your item. Never ship anything until you get paid. Always log in directly to your PayPal account to confirm funds. Anyone asking you to rush rush rush send an item Express Mail is trying to get you to turn loose of your item before you realize you haven't been paid. Do not sell anything you can't afford to lose.

 I'd be interested in knowing how well "scam magnets" translates into Vietnamese.

I started to wonder why so many new ID's of people from Vietnam have been asking the same thing for the last couple of months, I wondered if ebay was doing some kind of marketing campaign there, then I noticed many word for word or almost duplicate posts under a dozen or so different ID's.

Is there a campaign in Vietnam?

@pburn   scam magnet
nam châm lừa đảo

I cross checked by using a different translation site.

Then I used "finding dishonest customers" and got this "

"tìm kiếm khách hàng không trung thực"
Google translate is FUN1

@jocli76

FWIW - Although the US administration decided to drop out, the Trans Pacific Partnership  free trade agreement recently came into force and Vietnam is one of the signatories.*

We're seeing a lot of similar interest on the eBay Canada boards, which makes more sense since we are also signatories.

*Although some US politicians didn't seem to realize it, China was never a part of the treaty. It actually was set up to offset predatory Chinese tactics.

I'm missing your point here. Why would it matter that new members from Vietnam are posting questions on the discussion boards? Just answer their questions or skip over them.

My question was "how well" in translates into Vietnamese, not "whether" it translates into Vietnamese.

A few months ago it was sellers in Morocco.  Before that it was the Baltic and Eastern European countries such as Latvia, Croatia and Serbia.

eBay promotes in certain regions … you can always tell where the newest "outreach" program is running 😉
