With the recent dismal sales, I am officially ceasing all further attempts to acquire any further inventory until I see reasonable hope of selling it. The purpose of my endeavor here is not to find a public venue to display my stuff, but to actually sell some of it. I can't justify going further down the path of making my home into a merchandise warehouse. Things keep getting added, with few leaving the premises. I am kind of getting sick and tired of looking at it all.

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time. Am sure you know that pre-owned clothing is one of the most saturated categories on eBay. Don't know what the solution is, but hope things will soon pick up for you.

If I sold used clothes, I would do the same. My 2 cents? Find a different category to sell in along with the 'used' stuff.
New Stuff ie. hardware, toys, Coins, Stamps.... small things as that will keep inventory space to a minimum as well as shipping costs.

Been listing lots of other stuff besides clothing and it is not moving either. It also takes up a lot more space to store. I unfortunately do not live in an Amazon warehouse.

...or sell better stuff.
Stuff that is more in demand.
Stuff that people want and buy.

I always check the sell thru rate on any item before I buy it, so that is not the issue. Seems things that as of recently would likely sell, no longer will do so. Additionally, if there were better things to sell out there, I would acquire and sell them. My area is not a gold mine for a reseller.

For what you're selling (I see a lot of fall/winter clothing mixed in) the amount and the time of year, you're actually doing well. I used to make my living selling clothes and old tech online and tended to slow down on acquisition in the summer because it always dogs along this time of year.

Actually, your ratio of sold items to listed items is pretty good. But yes, sales have slowed for many of us selling in many different categories, the probable result of various factors ranging from inflation to vacation time to scorching hot weather, and yes, to the indifference of Ebay to sellers, not to mention the recent Ebay upgrade which, like upgrades in the past, has played havoc with sales. Be patient and wait a few more weeks and we will be past the hump of summer vacation time.
And yes, as one whose inventory is limited by the available space in my home, it can get frustrating to see inventory sitting.

Not buying is a great idea if product is not going out. Sometimes you just have to hit the brakes. Best of luck heading into next month.

Thanks. By the way, are you looking for that special outfit for a loved one. Know just the place to find it (lol).

You have a lot of inventory. That is money tied up. During the 80's when inflation was high, along with double digit interest rates, we turned our inventory back into money. Sell at a breakeven point if you have to. Get your money back and change what you have become comfortable with. Times will get better, but odds are it will be a couple of years down the road.

At least I never have a shortage of things to wear (just kidding)

Target, Walmart and Amazon are doing big sales right now to make room for incoming inventory. Anything these stores sell are what you want to avoid until the holidays. Clothing and shoes are not the items selling right now. Try small stuff : Barbie, especially new stuff sells well. Even new stamps might sell. Some buyers can't make it to a post office and will buy them if you live near buyers. I wouldn't do coins....too much a hassle for shipping. Not hardware either...can get that stuff in stores without paying for shipping.

I have always had that opinion since day one. Good that you have decided to only purchase items that have a very reasonable chance of getting sold. Saves a lot of headaches and allows you to have extra space in your house to move around. It also keeps you from donating to Salvation Army 2x a year.
