Funds on Hold for How Long?

It's my very first 'funds on hold' I ever got. 

Mailed on May 3rd...request opened on May 14th by eBay.

Am I suppose to just give the buyer a refund?

Today is 6th.

It's not a money issue for me...it's more of the principal.

My 'available funds' are not on hold.

I would think sellers who really might need the money would naturally be upset.

There is nothing I can do other than clink on the 'refund' button.

It's a first time buyer to me  but a 'big buyer' on eBay.

It's just most sellers would be very mad if their funds to a sale got on sold since 'May 14th' until when?

No, you don’t need to click Refund. It’s the only option because what you’re expected to do right now is just wait for the buyer to ship it back. There’s nothing for you to do right now.

But you used to have other options, like "message buyer" and now when they're auto approved you don't get that.

Looks like they aren't going to send it back, so why are thinking you should refund?  There is nothing for you to do at this point.

First, it’s a remorse return, so I’m surprised your funds are on hold for this. From what I know, funds are normally put on hold only for INAD? Or maybe new sellers/casual sellers also? I’m not 100% on that.

Second, from your screenshot, it looks like they had until yesterday to return to you? If you did not receive this return, then eBay should close this in your favor today I believe, or from my experience, returns have been closed within 48 hours of latest date they were given to ship/return to you.

If he doesn't ship the items back the refund does not go through.  You keep the funds.   In the past mine have never 'registered' or closed until about 3-4 days later.

Ha!...it is the 8th of June and funds still on hold and my eBay case is still open with no return with no tracking...LOL

Just a 'funny heads' up...

This is still open on June 9th...I guess the buyer gets more time to return item?
