Hello everyone!
Our holiday Community chit chat post was so fun and generated a lot of great ideas, especially delicious holiday recipes. We wanted to continue the conversation but with new topics.
Here’s how it’ll work, twice a month, we’ll post a new chit chat topic and will keep the post open for a couple of weeks. Our moderators will make sure the post stays on topic and that the content is appropriate. Once two weeks have passed, we’ll close the post, and we’ll post a new topic.
The idea for the holiday chit chat came from a Community member so we wanted to ask you, the Community, what fun topics would you like to talk about this year? Keep in mind that the content doesn’t have to be strictly related to eBay.
Here are some ideas that come to mind:
1. Let’s talk about our pets
2. What’s your perfect weekend?
3. What’s the most useful thing you own?
So what would you like to chit chat about this year?

Well I was hoping to travel during my retirement days. Now I'm not so sure I will even get to retire so I better do it all while I'm still quite young. LOL

Go on Vacation to Manhattan Beach, or Laguna Beach or Huntington Beach .. I miss living in L.A. I hope that I can travel there one day soon.

Being former military and then the spouse of a miltary member, I have done my fair share of traveling. I still have a few places I would like visit. I retired last February and didn't go anywhere outside my state all year.

I don't usually read pinned or "chit chat" threads here on eBay, but been up most of the night and bored. I just gotta note that this pinned post has gone from eBay wanting "ideas for chit chat" to people answering other peoples suggestions as if each was the topic, to general chit chat on various topics, this post still pinned with no moderation.
I find it funny that eBay has gone to great lengths to divvy up all the eBay topics into separate regulated specific subject boards - which I agree with - and are quick to squash off-topic threads and johnnie-on-the-spot to move a thread if they think that 51% of it is the topic of another thread.
Not real interested in these kinds of things as they're generally for the small clique that usually inhabits every board and newcomers are usually ignored or get the ol' "we discussed that back 3 years 1 month and 8 days ago, learn to search the forum before you post an old topic, newbie"

I would like to chit chat about how I just got threatened by ebay and they are withholding my measly $8 in sales today. A couple weeks ago I got a message to update my info. Since nothing has changed I didn't think much of it. Now they are asking for ALL of my personal information including SS numbet and that my funds will go directly where I DO NOT want them to go. So, without PayPal as an option and the threats I have received I will be looking elsewhere to do my petty little sales, but what I want to know is can I still buy on ebay? Or are they going to ask me for my SS number? The fees associated with ebay just sitting back and collecting the cash got a bit out of hand, but now this?

Yes, you will still be able to buy here.
And as for the poster right above you, if you make a habit of reading these threads you will find LOTS of smart helpful people here. There are snarks here and there but if you have a sense of humor those are allowable too.
I've never seen anyone get ignored if they had a real problem...even if it had been brought up over and over through the years. That's not what we are here for.

Yes, of course you can still use PayPal to buy. You've been ask to sign up for MP and I have to in February also. If you want to continue to sell here, you must furnish this information just like you did for PayPal. EBay is no longer using PP as a processor for funds so that's why your $$ is still sitting there. Finish signing up, we all have too, and best to you.

Although there are people that claim to be ignored when in reality they're just not hearing what they want to hear. Many times the right answers aren't favorable to the OP.
