Freight forwarded items

I just had a buyer purchase two pieces of sterling silverware, separtely, then after I had bought the shipping, asked me to combine the two items.  Then, they decided to buy a third item, which they also purchased separately. I did not purchase the shipping label on the third item, and instead figured out (first time!) how to combine all three items and printed out new shipping label and brought to the PO this morning.  Then, after talking with an Ebay rep about the wonky charges I noticed on the Details page (two tracking numbers, still shipping charges for all three items, etc.) and how to refund the buyer for the first two labels, I noticed the shipping address was to a Freight Forwarding company in Delaware, for a person in the country of Georgia.  The buyer seemed nice while we were messaging one another but now I'm worried I've been scammed. I've heard so many stories of items being shipped to a FF address in Delaware, only to have the buyer claim they never received the item etc. Is it ALWAYS a scam when the shipping goes to a FF in Delaware? Or is this just the way people overseas get their Ebay stuff from those of us who don't choose to ship (intentionally) overseas?

Freight forwarded items

Here in New Jersey - We have worked with what is likely the same Freight Fowarding Company along with others without issue.

Yes, if you don't offer international shipping the customer can still purchase items by using a "freight forwarder."   I never had many customers who used a forwarding service, and I never had any problems or complaints.

I have never had a issue using FF, and usually they are my only buyers that buy multiple items

I would mail all 3 items separately...Would I take a hit on the shipping?..Yes...To protect myself from one item getting lost. Buyer would not likely file 3 different packages lost.

I would take photo(s) of each package with postage on it and send that to the buyer dated...I usually use the heading in the email with (Hello name of buyer)and eBay,...and put a date on the email.

I would let buyer know I know it is going 'freight forward' to Georgia.

I would tell buyer to expect another 2 weeks before item(s) are received from Delaware.

Thus, I haven't had any issues with 'freight forward' and I do get them selling stamps in just envelopes.

Chance of all 3 packages getting lost shipped separately would probably not happen.

I kinda go overboard in protecting myself but I never had any problems with shipping thus far without tracking...Tracking would protect me only to Delaware and not to their country so it wouldn't work for me personally. If item doesn't scan as 'delivered' in Delaware I am not protected by tracking(of what I use for tracking).

Good luck.

Nice thought.  You really have to protect yourself.  Might the Freight Fowarder consolidate to one package before shipping??

There will be various packages/envelopes at the freight forward number of various sellers.

There is a time frame before all are shipped...packages/envelopes are not shipped every day.

So, there can be a pile or bunch eventually shipped at some point in the time frame.
